Meanwhile, if you're just joining us, the Lords of War series of card games come from from award-winning, independent, UK-based games publisher Black Box Games.
Although we have already released three Lords of War games and an expansion pack in the Lords of War series, chances are you won't have heard of us.
That's because we are a fast-growing company - we have been around for less than two years and have sold over 10,000 games in that time - but the world is a very big place!
Very excitingly, we have recently done deals with Heidelberger Spielverlag in Germany and ACD Distribution in the United States, with the German Language version of Lords of War having been released on Thursday last week.
The German Edition had SOLD OUT by the Saturday of the world's largest game show - The Spiel - which happened last weekend. We were there and had a great time!!

Up until now, every Lords of War game has been designed to work on its own, completely independently of the others, although you have always been able to play any of the armies against one another or mix the decks up to build balanced Mercenary armies!
With Lords of War: Magic and Monsters, we're adding a HUGE amount of new stuff to Lords of War in the form of our first full Deck Expansions!

Wait! I'm new to the game! Explain the core Lords of War mechanic in 10 seconds!
See this diagram?
See how every card has a shield containing a Defence Value?
See how each card has a series of numbers in their Attack Arrows on the edges or corners?
Players play one card at a time from their hand, using their cards' Attack Arrows to exceed the Defence Value on their opponent's cards.
In the above example, the Orc Butcher is DEAD (4 from the Chariot + 1 from the Spearman = 5 against the Orc Butcher's 4 Defence).
That's the mechanic in 10 seconds.
There's a lot more to the game, including special rules for Berserker, Spear, Ranged, Cavalry, Magic, Monstrous and Flying Units, but that's the absolute basics.

What new Unit Types will be introduced in this edition?
Alongside more of the Unit Types and Ranks you know and love, we are introducing some new mechanics to Lords of War which are well and truly game-changing!
Lords of War: Magic and Monsters ALSO adds Moving Units into the armies which did not have them before, starting with - of course - the Orcs and Dwarves!
Magic Units are a major addition to Lords of War - not least because they introduce Tokens to the game!
Each Lords of War Faction contains multiple Magic Units in its Magic and Monsters Expansion, with each Faction having unique spells that only they can cast.
For the Dwarves for example, harnessing the Icy Winds of the North, their Magic Units can either deal +1 Ice Damage to their foes (Damage which lingers, even if the Magic Unit Retreats or is Eliminated) or they can cast +1 Shield onto allied Units!
The Orc Magic Units meanwhile can cast +1 Fire Damage or they ALSO have the power to turn ANY Orc Unit into a Berserker, enabling them to rampage across the battlefield and achieve multi-elimination combos!
Magic Units with Ranged capability have another MAJOR advantage: they can Fire even if Engaged!
*Note: Magic Units can deal Ranged damage *OR* cast a spell in their turn, not both!

Monstrous Units bring a whole new level of strategic thinking to Lords of War. Not only can they all Move but, as you can see, they also have a Monstrous Defence Value.
The trick with the Monstrous Defence is that no Attack Arrow which deals EQUAL OR LESS THAN a Monstrous Unit's Monstrous Defence can damage that Monstrous Unit.
Weaker Units might be able to Engage them but your heavy damage Units will be needed to actually Eliminate them.
You'll now need to really think twice before you play out your high damage Units!

Flying Units are crafty creatures primarily used to interrupt your opponent's strategies.
What makes them unique is that, despite having low Shield Values, they can ONLY be damaged or Engaged by Ranged Units or other Flying Units.
They may seem small but they are MAJOR pests!

What else is new?
In addition to the above, each Faction will also be given more Special Units, more Elite Units, more Command Cards *AND* players will now hold 7 rather than 6 cards in their hand.
The Victory Conditions for Lords of War matches also change with the inclusion of Lords of War: Magic and Monsters:
- With your deck expanded to 54 cards, players now need to take 30 cards to win a match!
- With 8 Command Cards now in the deck, players now need to Eliminate 6 enemy Command Cards in order to earn a Command Card Victory!

Risks and challenges
We're trying to get Lords of War: Orcs versus Dwarves 2 out in time for Christmas. Everything about doing this will be challenging, but we think we can do it.
After all, we delivered our last Kickstarter in 4 months!
Almost all of the artwork for the game is finished, so getting it PRINTED and DELIVERED will be our main challenge.
