Lords of War is an award-winning, easy to learn/hard to master gateway card game for 2-8 players.
As you can see from our Let's Play video above, it takes 2 minutes to set up, 5 minutes to learn and 20-45 minutes to play.
Don't be fooled by its size - we pack a MASSIVE amount of game into each pocket-sized Lords of War "Core Game" box, including 2 complete armies, instructions and a paper Battle Mat to play on.
This means that even if you pledge for just ONE of our games then you will still have PLENTY of play to be getting on with!
On top of that, with our new Magic and Monsters Expansion Packs - the latest of which this campaign will help us finance, print and ship - the intensity of Lords of War games is kicked up SEVERAL notches with Spell Casting, Flying and Monstrous Creatures and other new cards too!

What do we mean, MORE than a game?! Well, community is SUPER important to us. Our Facebook group is HUGELY active, we try to meet as many players as we can, our Tournament scene is growing fast AND we release tonnes of Lore completely free of charge to ensure that Lords of War feels as full and rounded as it can be.
We know that mums and dads out there read our Lore to their children at bed time. How do we know? Because they have told us, and it's something we are REALLY proud of.
Plus, this our third Kickstarter campaign, with our previous campaigns having been delivered in a few short months to lots of happy customers - we will NOT let you down!
We have worked REALLY hard to keep Lords of War compact, but you can expand the game to an epic scale if you want to.

The key things to remember is that this isn't any kind of card game you've played before. It's NOT that mini-game from Final Fantasy VIII, it's NOT another Magic: The Gathering clone, and it's DEFINITELY not Summoner Wars.
All of those games are obviously awesome in their own right, but when you pick up Lords of War you are picking up something truly unique.
Moreover, we are regular people with full time jobs who have made this game because nothing out there quite hit the spot for us.
We wanted a game that was SUPER easy to learn but which offers a LOT more than the big LCGs, CCGs and TCGs already out there, and Lords of War does just that.
Aside from winning the UK Games Expo Award for Best Strategic Card Game, Lords of War has been widely critically acclaimed.

The Lords of War "core" games come packaged in double-deck packs which contain two Fantasy armies illustrated by the amazing Steve Cox (Danger Mouse, Count Duckula, Roland Rat).
All of our decks are cross-compatible, which means you can play all the factions against one another, with each army requiring a different play-style.
Alternatively, can actually blend the decks together using our Ranking System to deck-build a Mercenary Army that plays exactly how you want it to, without the deck becoming overpowered.
PLUS - with the Lords of War: Magic and Monsters Expansion Packs, you can expand the Core Game to include new Unit Types in your games including new Flying Units, Monstrous Creatures and Magic Units.
You can ALSO add more decks to Lords of War to increase the player count and, with The Lords of War: Weather and Terrain Expansion Pack you can experiment with two new game modes.
On the one hand, you can also play the Lords of War: Terrain pre-building game to create your own custom battlefields and/or you can play with the Lords of War: Weather deck to make your battles (and the game's rules) dynamically change as battles go along!

Lords of War: Orcs versus Dwarves
Lords of War: Orcs versus Dwarves is the original award-winning Lords of War pack. As with all Lords of War core decks, the game is playable out of the box and contains two complete armies - the Orcs and the Dwarves.
The Dwarves are a feisty race full of guts and rebellious tendencies. As a Faction in Lords of War, they are a great place to start, benefitting from fair amounts of defence, a balance of different card types and attacks that pack a lot of punch.
The Orcs meanwhile are a pretty foul and rowdy bunch. As a Lords of War Faction, they are all about sneaky attacks in which they deal tonnes of damage – and they actively enjoy sacrificing lots of Goblins along the way…
Lords of War: Elves versus Lizardmen
Like its predecessor Lords of War: Orcs versus Dwarves, Lords of War: Elves versus Lizardmen is a dual-deck strategic card game for two-plus players. It won the UK Games Expo Award for Best Strategic Card Game in 2013, the year of its release.
In terms of how they play, the Elves' deadly Archer and Cavalry Units form an exciting play style which is all about flexibility, light armour and cunning.
As for the Lizardmen, they are a wild and wily collection of vicious, cold-blooded beasts. Brightly coloured and extremely eye-catching, playing Lizardmen can often require some sleight of hand...
Lords of War: Templars versus Undead
The third in the Lords of War: Fantasy Battles series, Lords of War: Templars versus Undead was funded on Kickstarter and was released in May 2014. It was a nominee for the UK Games Expo Award for Best Expansion Pack last year, along with The Lords of War: Weather and Terrain Expansion Pack.
As for play styles, the Templars are a great deck for beginners. They are tough as old boots and have plenty of card-types which deal heavy damage!
The Undead meanwhile are gruesome, mean and cold to the touch, providing an awesome combination of multi-directional attacking cards, Moving Units and deadly Cavalry.
Lords of War: Orcs versus Dwarves 2 - The Magic and Monsters Expansion Pack
This game-changing expansion was brought into existence at the end of last year by our AMAZING Kickstarter supporters.
As well as expanding Army Decks to 54 cards, this expansion introduced new rules, units, unique spells and special abilities to the the Orcs and the Dwarves, including Fire and Ice-themed magic spells and LOTS more!
Lords of War: Elves versus Lizardmen 2 - The Magic and Monsters Expansion Pack
This is the reason we need your support - we are trying to fund this brand new expansion pack with this campaign. so please spread the word. Every penny matters!
Like the previous Magic and Monsters Expansion Pack, this set will expand the Elves and Lizardmen decks to 54 cards while introducing new rules, units, unique spells and special abilities to the game, including Air and Poison-themed magic spells...
Here we have 4 Spells. On the left, the Elves have the blue shimmery ones while the Lizardmen have the freaky, psychedelic ones.
The Elves spells are:
(The top left symbol) - When an Elven Mage Unit casts Bless, he casts a token onto an allied Ranged Unit. That Bless token enables that Ranged Unit to either Fire Twice in one turn or Fire Once even if engaged by an enemy Unit.
(The top right symbol) - When a Lizardmen Mage Unit casts Poison, they infect one enemy for 1 Damage. Once that enemy dies, that Poison spreads to all of their allied Units along any connecting Attack Arrows.
(The bottom left symbol) - When an Elven Mage Unit casts Air Damage, that Mage leaves 1 Air Damage token on an enemy card, effectively reducing their Shield Value by 1. Air Damage can be stacked and, like all Spells, can target Flying Units.
(The bottom right symbol) - When a Lizardmen Mage Unit casts Paralyze, they effectively immobilize an enemy card. The Spell prevents that card from Moving (even via Berserking) or Retreating.
As was the case with the Orcs and Dwarves, the Elves and Lizardmen can cancel out or 'Cure' each others' Spells - HOWEVER - Orc and Dwarf spells cannot be cured by the Elves or the Lizardmen, and vice versa...

Risks and challenges
Our biggest challenge is getting the War Chests, Shoulder Bags and Token Bags (the first Stretch Goal) manufactured and shipped out in a timely manner. This will be the first time we've used this supplier!
Otherwise, all the artwork is COMPLETE going into this campaign (unlike last time, or the time before) meaning that we SHOULD be able to get the game printed, shipped and in the post to supporters REALLY quickly.
