Recording: We want the best sound possible. This means we record to tape, and tape cost a bit these days. But we understand these record will last forever! We will be recording our 12 songs here in Seattle at Soundhouse Studios starting in February 2014 (after the holiday hubbub). Luke Vanderpol will be engineering and producing. Luke recently came back from being on tour with Deep Sea Diver and knows his stuff, so we are honored to have him involved in the project.
Dead of winter is the way to go, we hunker in and get our best work done when it's 20 degrees out side! Luke will also be mixing the album. We have not chosen who will master the album yet.
- Guitar - Chris Bowden

Backstory: My grandfather Creed Chester Bowden built a home in the Mojave Desert just outside of Joshua Tree in California in the late 1960's. It was meant to be a vacation home, but his wife tragically died of cancer, so he moved up there shortly afterward. I grew up riding old dirt bikes, exploring abandoned silver mines, and had countless adventures in and around this special place.
In the late 1990's my grandfather passed away and my family was left to care for the property. Numerous friends have shared in these adventures up there.
In early 2001 we recorded our first self titled full length album on Velvet Blue Music. We then began to record our 2nd album 'On The Verge Of Collapsing' in early 2004 and as stated in the video, I went through a terrible divorce just as we finished tracking at Tackyland Studios in Long Beach California with Matt Wignall at the helm. The record took on extra time and was finally released in late 2005.
Seattle: By this time I had moved up to Seattle Washington to 'start over' and work on many of my life struggles. And though our song 'Walk With Me' was picked up by the television show BOSTON LEGAL season 4 episode 4 entitled 'Hope and Gory', music was the last thing on my mind. It wasn't until 2007 when I felt well enough to start writing again, though music had now taken on a different approach. It was no longer all about me! But instead, I now saw my music for only one purpose - to glorify God. By placing this perspective first, I began to heal and find tremendous joy and freedom through playing again.
Hope: The hope is the new album will be able to connect with those who struggle with fear, suffering, and doubt. With those who wrestle and ask difficult questions about God and His purposes. We hope these songs can be somewhat of a voice with those who are struggling and to hopefully shed some light in this area. We have mucho songs to share for you through Other Desert Cities.
Please consider supporting Other Desert Cities 3rd full length album by contributing as you feel led. Please pray we will be doing this for the glory of God and pointing to Christ, our Lord and Savior. Thank you!

Risks and challenges
Making a full length record can be a long tedious endeavor. A few obstacles and challenges we see are:
1. Money - if this KS does not happen, our record does not happen :(
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
2. Time - It can take a full year before an album is recorded, art work is complete, manufacturing is accomplished. WE NEED YOUR PATIENTS!
3. Planning - Our plan is to start tracking early 2014. After the Holiday
hubbub, we plan to lock ourselves in the studio for a solid chunk of time to
get the basic tracks down live. From there it's overdubs and more overdubs. We plan to finish all the tracking within one month. WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS!
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
