Toobie™ - The Most Versatile Hat or Scarf You'll Ever Own!
It's a hat! It's a scarf! It's anything you want it Toobie!™ • Over 9 ways it can be worn to match the weather and your vibe.
What is The Toobie™
The Toobie™ is the most versatile hat or scarf you'll ever own! It can be worn in at least nine ways and is made from fleece, which means it's wind resistant, soft and warm.
It's the perfect way to engage in outdoor activities ranging from walking to skiing in any number of weather conditions.
You can wear it as a Neck, Chest, and Back Warmer - then, if it gets a little windy, pull up the neck for a Face Mask.
Need more protection? - Configure it as a Hood or a Balaclava. Need a hat? - Configure it as "The Santa" - a hat with a knot in the end. Looking for a different look? - Turn The Santa inside out and you'll have a Ski Cap!
Having an active day outdoors and want a fun style? - Configure "The Buccaneer". Ladies, pull The Buccaneer over one shoulder for a sleek and sexy look (Ponytail).
Want to replicate the ever-popular Jestor caps you see on the ski slopes? - No problem - tie a knot in each end and you've got it!
The possibilities are endless for just about any weather condition and activity.
And while we're not asking you to ditch all your hats and scarves and replace them with ONE Toobie™, it is indeed that versatile! It's a money saver for sure.
One Toobie™ - Over 9 Ways to Wear It!
Adding to the versatility, the Toobie's™ unique design solves a common problem in cooler weather - keeping your chest and back warm.
The gap between your coat and your body reduces your body's ability to stay warm, which often makes your back and chest cold. But because the Toobie™ is uniquely designed to cover your chest and back and your neck (when worn in the basic way), you'll stay warmer. - No more wrangling and adjusting your scarves to lay flat or cover you just right....
...wearing anytime you go outside, but especially great for people that enjoy outdoor activities like:
Watching outdoor sporting events like soccer and football
Walking the dog
Golfing (no hindrance of arm movement!)
Kids Love it Too!
Kids love the fun looks they can have with the Toobie™ - my own sons love the "Ninja" (Balaclava) and my daughter loves the soft feel of the fabric and being girly girl with her stylings.
And it's especially wonderful for keeping the littlest ones warm. You'll have no problem with them trying to take it off - like a hat - when you're trying to bundle them up for the cold because it stays on securely. And when worn as a neck, back, and chest warmer, you'll feel good about having an extra layer for the little ones without a lot of extra bulk.
The Game Plan
When I was working on the Toobie™ I couldn't decide what colors I wanted. I loved them all. That's when I realized that others would like a variety of colors too, so I decided to start with the ambitious goal of offering at least eight colors in the beginning.
I've teamed up with a family owned business with over thirty years experience here in America, and I've located a few reliable suppliers of fleece in order for us to receive timely deliveries once we go into production.
I'm excited to see the final version of the Toobie™, but not near as excited as I am to share it with others. And this is where you come in. Your generous pledge will allow me to mass produce the Toobie™and not only get American machines humming again, but will help keep everyone warm and toasty as the cool weather approaches.
Here's how Toobie™ project funds will be utilized:
Purchase of the necessary fleece in at least eight colors along with garment labels for our first-ever production run
Creation of a how-to instruction booklet
Creation of marketing materials to solicit stores and distributors
Creation of a fully functional website that can take orders
100% Made in the USA! ==> I've teamed up with a family-owned manufacturer here in America with over thirty years of experience.
One day the son told me a sad story that inspired me to produce it state-side. He said that around the year 1999, the laws changed with Asian countries and business dried up in the US as companies saw opportunities to cut corners and costs by going overseas.
He went on to say that his father had purchased a lot of specialized sewing machines costing around $7000 each, that suddenly went idle. Not being used, and with dismal prospects in the near future, he tried to sell them. He received a few offers in the $100 range, sadly, so they decided to put them into storage in case things changed.
Well, great news! We'll be using those exact machines to make the Toobie™! - and yes, there are still plenty of skilled workers that know how to use them!
I'm thrilled about this, and I'm also happy to add that having the ability to make the Toobies™ in the US will additionally increase the output in regards to quality and quick turnarounds.
Send me your suggestions, but at the present time, the plans are to produce Toobies™ and Toobie™ Juniors in the following colors:
Baby blue (not shown in pic)
Also considering Camo in traditional, white/desert, and pink.
The Toobie™ will be made in three sizes. "Regular" will fit most people.
For young adults and some adults with smaller coconuts than the rest of us, there will be a medium (smaller opening, same length as regular size).
For the little ones, the Toobie™ Junior works great. It has a smaller opening and is shorter, so it won't hang ridiculously low out of a short jacket.
At the end of the campaign, I'll send out a Reward Survey with more specifics about selecting the perfect Toobie™ for you.
Risks and challenges
I've been manufacturing and delivering quality goods in various industries for the past seventeen years. (My first two Kickstarter campaigns delivered in record time.)
And while, this is my first venture doing a garment, I'm confident I'll meet the goals of the project because I've surrounded myself with a dedicated family owned manufacturer with over thirty years experience.
We've met extensively to go over the process, the requirements, and lead times needed to meet a variety of quantities. But even then, with Kickstarter projects, it's hard to determine what will be your outcome. I've watched several projects go well beyond their goals and I know that totally skewed their delivery times - and it's not just the manufacturing that this effects, but also the fulfillment timelines. That said, we'll be diligent in our communications with everyone every step of the way.
I do have to rely on an outside source for supplying the material, however, which could be delayed, though I don't expect it to be (Toobie™ - see, it's everywhere!). I also have to order the garment tags from outside, but I feel confident we'll have a quick turnaround for those as well.
Communication on all fronts is the key. I hope to get rewards to everyone as fast as humanly possible, but I will let you know what is going on every step of the way whether it's a delay or that we're ahead of schedule.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
