Sandwiches is a card game for 2 to 4 players. Players compete to put the most Sandwiches in play, and the first player to have 7 Sandwiches in play or if there are no cards left to draw, then the player with the most Sandwiches wins. How do you get Sandwiches? You set your opponent up. Every card has two abilities on it, when you play the card, you do both abilities in order. Every card also has a Sandwich on it, when your opponent does the action listed for the Sandwich, then you get to score that card as a Sandwich. The abilities on the card are about either drawing cards, or stealing cards, or replacing cards, or controlling what your opponent draws or has in their hand. In short, you are manipulating your opponent's situation so that they play what you want them to play, so you can score points or 'Sandwich' off of their play.

Interested? Here is a link to download copies of the cards and here are the rules for the game. We have rules for casual play, but also alternative rules for 2 player competitive, and 4+ player chaos.
Why 2500 dollars? This is what we need to do an entire print run of Sandwiches at the maximum discount. We are printing with the good people at The Game Crafter.
We will also be selling the game on The Game Crafter's site at 12.99 plus shipping. Investors are getting the game for 10 dollars and no shipping. That ends up being about a 5 dollars savings or 33% off. What a deal! Since I am able to handle all of the design work myself, I have been able to keep development costs very low and distribution will come quickly as the game is already completed. This savings is our way of thanking you for helping us get our first printing completed.
If we meeting our funding goals, we are taking the extra copies of the game to conventions to sell and spread the word. Were hoping to continue to develop our following, not only in Sandwiches, but in our future products. This won't be the last project from Tree of Woe. We have several other projects waiting in the wings to follow up the Sandwiches release. What's next? Check out our blog, it has information about Sandwiches, and every Friday we are doing a Back Burner article talking about other projects we have in development. Post comments, send us emails, message me on Facebook, we would love to hear suggestions or responses to anything.
Thank you for your support. We are a small family with big dreams, and hope you will take time to spread the word and help us reach our goals.
Risks and challenges
This is a lower risk project. The game is done. Tested and balanced. All art assets delivered and proofed. The challenge I now face are press, distribution, and getting the word out. I have elected to use gamecrafter for my initial run, and if my goal is reached we'll be able to make a bulk order at the cheapest discount. Distribution through their site to start with and I'll handle direct fulfillment of rewards from the kickstarter. After that, I hope to sell on Amazon and start talking to distributors. Getting the word out is part of what I am doing on kickstarter, but announcements are going up on a variety of social media sites.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Sandwiches isn't about anything. It's just about stacking the deck and making your opponent let you win. Sandwiches is a fun word, and it makes as much sense as anything else. Plus, we get to ask people if they like Sandwiches, and they always say, 'Yes.'
