“Look Jessie, I know you hate me for leaving, but I have to go back. I'm still Andy's toy. Well, if you knew him, you'd understand.” - Woody, Toy Story 2
WunderWerks is proud to present Nighty Knights, the RPG! Using the license of the TinyD6 minimalist roleplaying system!
Using this game you play stuffed animals, dolls, and action figures defending your sleeping human children from monsters and nightmares. Play gruff stuffed dogs, mysterious black cats, energetic tigers, proud space rangers, determined penguins, good monsters, or any type of plush toy you can imagine. Explore the dark and dangerous basement, creep into the creepy attic, visit the glorious metropolis of Underbed, or adventure in the Dreamlands all while making sure your child is safe from evil monsters and nightmares that want to suck the happiness out of their lives.
Ben was on Victory Condition Gaming talking about Nighty Knights. The video is 22 minutes long. The first 5 to 10 minutes are focused on the game and the contents of the campaign, but you can listen to the whole thing if you want.

Character creation is simple, fast, and exciting. Based on the exciting stories your Game Master is going to tell, you pick a child to protect, your Knight’s Heritage, a few Traits that each grant a single benefit, and you're done!
Then you defend, explore, and adventure in the whimsical setting of Underbed and the Dreamlands. This is one of the new TinyD6 Settings using the TinyD6 systems.
You can read more about the world of Underbed below!

Sometimes as the GM, you don't have time to plot lengthy, detailed worlds, but you want that experience. Well, we've got your back, and that support comes in the form of micro-verses and our signature setting, Underbed and the Dreamlands!
Micro-verses are short settings filled with adventure hooks, and designed to put your adventures and campaigns into high action-adventure.
Our goal is to fund a softcover edition, a limited number of hardcover collector’s editions, the Nighty Knights dice, Storage Bag, GM Screen, and maybe a few Plush Animals. We’ve planned several stretch goals which will increase page count, add more art, and add more options and traits. All of our goals will provide you with more fun and engaging Nighty Knights content!
The writing for Underbed and the Dreamlands is being handled by top industry talent. We're set on paying all our contributors well, and our goal reflects our commitment to an ethical pay rate for our writers, artists, and team members.
We also plan on filling the book with Knights, Monsters, and Nightmares! All new art created by the talented Cynthia Williams. Thus, our goal reflects the costs inherent in these design choices.

Nighty Knights uses TinyD6: a simple, fast, and dynamic rule set to handle actions. The game uses up to three six-sided dice as part of action resolution.
If you roll a "5" or "6" on a die, your check succeeds. Most checks are made with two dice. However, if you are deemed to have "advantage" on a roll, you gain a third die to roll. If you have disadvantage, you lose a die (rolling only a single die).
Characters are made quickly and easily. You will select a Child to protect, a Heritage (for example, Bear, Doll, Good Monster), three traits, write down some basic information, and you are ready to play!

Underbed and the Dreamlands is the fantastic setting for Nighty Knights. Conceived by Ben Woerner, it is a world much like our own, except toys and stuffed animals come alive when humans are asleep or away. You can travel into the dreams of humans or to fantastic settings like the wondrous city of Underbed. It exists under all the beds, or in the closets, or shadowy corners near a sleeping child. You can visit the Night Market, the great Citadel of the Order of the Nighty Knights, or venture deep into the Darkness, the stronghold of monsters and Nightmares.
Your knights will face off against Ghastly Ghosts, the Thing from the Sewers, the Boogie Man, Not Your Parents, and many more monsters and nightmares. Fight a pitched battle under the living room couch, organize the other toys to come to the defense of your child, or explore deep into the Dreamlands to recover lost dreams of your child.
As a cohesive setting Underbed and the Dreamlands is overseen by Ben, and written by many of the freelance authors listed below.

Micro-settings are unique, small universes that exist in alternate dimensions adjacent to the Underbed! They are specifically designed to be used as a tool, resource, or spring-board for your own campaigns.
Micro-settings are short, 4-8 page high-level settings, designed to provide an evocative framework for each GM to launch their own variation and home campaign from.
Our micro-setting authors are a mix of industry veterans and new voices, each bringing a unique aspect to Nighty Knights.

The handcrafted storage bags (7" X 9") look like the picture below. As a handmade item, there is always variation in the fabric, coloring or pattern, but never the quality! These bags (and the accompanying hardcovers) are Kickstarter exclusives and are never sold retail after the Kickstarter is over.
Handcrafted Storage Bag that can hold your book, screen, dice, and more! This is a Mock-Up and due to fabric pattern availability the final pattern might be subject to change. Also slight variations might occur for each final product.
This beautiful faux-leather hardback limited edition of Nighty Knights is only available through this Kickstarter. It features a dark blue cover with golden engraved title and the Nighty Knights Coat of Arms. The above picture us a mock-up, final design may vary.
The custom Nighty Knight plush that you get at the Plush Paladin and higher tiers are being filled by a longtime custom plush toy producer. Here are some custom plush examples they have done for customers in the past.
The process is straightforward, you send us an image of the plush you want created, and we send it on to the producer who creates the plush. We keep you updated throughout the process, and will ship your own personal Nighty Knight to you when it is ready! :)
All previous WunderWerks, Gallant Knight Games, and all TinyD6 games are available on DriveThruRPG!

WunderWerks is a one man company. Gallant Knight Games, our partner in this venture, is not much larger. GKG is doing our fulfillment, so we can ensure it is done right. This can lead to high international costs at times, due to customs and the generally high price of shipping.
However, for the first time ever, we are offering an International Only Backer level to acquire a local Print on Demand softcover. This will alleviate most of the cost of international shipping for non-US backers.
We can and do offer international shipping, but we cannot offer refunds on your pledge because shipping was higher than you anticipated.
If you need shipping estimates, feel free to reach out to email@example.com.
All of our digital rewards (and our print on demand rewards) are being handled by our fulfillment partners at DriveThruRPG!

WunderWerks is an independent game company run by Ben Woerner, and has licensed the TinyD6 system from and partnered with Gallant Knight Games for shipping and fulfillment. This is WunderWerks 2nd Kickstarter.
Gallant Knight Games is a indie game company ran by Alan and Erin Bahr.
Our previous TinyD6 Kickstarters (Tiny Frontiers and Tiny Frontiers: Mecha & Monsters) delivered early to backers (4 months in the case of Tiny Frontiers), and Tiny Dungeon 2e was on time!
Nighty Knights has been in development for three years and playtested in the TinyD6 system for the last three months. The book is written and off to the editor. The art is mostly done and paid for (with the exception of any stretch goals). The goal of this Kickstarter is to pay for the print run and unlock our stretch goals, making this a truly gorgeous book.
As we continue along, we'll preview bios of our fantastic writers below.
We have stretch goals featuring great micro-settings and expansions to Underbed and the Dreamlands from top-tier talent, both established and up-and-coming, see below:
Risks and challenges
Q: Can WunderWerks and Gallant Knight Games handle this project?
A: This is WunderWerks' 2nd Kickstarter as a creator. Ben has worked in the game design industry for years now and has worked as both a content editor, developer, and freelance author. Besides handling the day to day of this Kickstarter, and editing any unlocked Stretch Goals, (a job Ben has done in the past with Sound of Water), all of the writing for Nighty Knights is complete and off to editing and layout.
Gallant Knight Games has run 11 Kickstarters, and we learned a lot from the first eleven. This is a straight-forward project with some nuances, but we're prepared to handle them, and we're shooting for the same exceptional success we've already had!
Q: What if the text or art isn't finished?
A: The draft text of all the rules is 100% done. Most of the art is in and done, Cynthia has a clear schedule and is ahead of her schedule for turning in art. The only text we're waiting on is our stretch goals, and as we depend on the backers to determine what needs to be written, those will come throughout and after the Kickstarter.
Q: What if the complexity of the project overwhelms WWW and GKG?
A: We have straight forward pledge levels to make it easy to manage, and we've budgeted our stretch goals up to our cap. In order to keep the project manageable for our small team, we've elected to minimize our stretch goals to text increases, and we've set a finite limit of page count.
Q: What about delays in art?
A: We've already contracted and finished the core art for the game. Isn't it great? We're really happy with our artists. We've got some stretch goals for more art, but our artists are professionals. If there's a delay on the art, we have back-up artists we've already done test runs and are ready to work with.
Q: Do you anticipate increases in shipping costs?
A: Shipping costs constantly rise, and while we've projected them to the best of our abilities, there's not a lot we can do if they change. However, due to the limitations on the size of our product, we're confident this won't be an issue.
Q: What if something happens to the principals?
A: If something were to happen to Ben or Alan, or another writer on the project, we've identified our backups, and our team is spread all over the world. It'd take a really big asteroid, zombie apocalypse or alien invasion to wipe us all out. The files and plans have been communicated to the whole team, and a new project lead (who has been identified) will step up.
We hold rewards for a year from fulfillment start date, before we can no longer promise that we'll be able to fulfill your rewards. We're a small company with limited space, and while we've never had an issue, it's better to be clear about our practices so you're aware. Once we start shipping, if your reward gets returned, or your fulfillment info wasn't provided, we'll give you a full calendar year and ship that reward for you. If it's after that year, we might not have it, or we might have to ask you to pay new shipping charges (shipping goes up a lot!)
