Our video has shown the idea behind the Original BeverageBall. Here are some shots of the BeverageBall in action.
The Original BeverageBall at the river!
The Original BeverageBall at the pool!
The BeverageBall is constructed of durable foam rubber. It is a molded part that has two identical halves. The halves are held together by a plastic ring (also molded).
The purpose of the invention is to provide a safe, yet fun way to deliver a canned beverage from point A to someone in need of that beverage at point B, while avoiding walking (or swimming) from point A to point B.
Operation is simple. Separate the two halves of the BeverageBall. Place the can of beverage into the cutout in the BeverageBall. (Our innovative patent pending design allows for both 12 oz. and 16 oz. cans.) Join the halves together around the beverage can thus forming the complete football shaped BeverageBall. (See instructional video below.)
Now you are ready to deliver the goods. Pass the BeverageBall from point A to point B, thereby delivering the canned beverage to that needy person.
Needy person at Point B, when you receive the loaded BeverageBall, separate the two halves of the BeverageBall and remove the can of beverage for your enjoyment. Rejoin the two halves (now held together by the inner molded ring). (Once again, refer to the video below.)
Now you can pass the empty BeverageBall back to the original point A. There it can be re-loaded with a new beverage can and passed to another needy soul at Point C.
If there is no one in need of a cold beverage, the empty BeverageBall can pose as an ordinary foam football, which can be tossed back and forth for tailgating fun and enjoyment.
As an extra benefit, the BeverageBall halves can individually function as "industrial strength" Koozies thereby keeping your beverages icy cold.
WHAT HAVE WE DONE SO FAR?
The groundwork has been laid for the project. We have filed a patent application for the BeverageBall and the patent is pending.
We have produced a prototype.
We have a mechanical design for the BeverageBall along with complete production documentation.
We have production quotes and timelines in hand and a manufacturer waiting.
We have secured the URL www.beverageball.com and the website is "under construction".
Kick off the Kickstarter campaign and execute the plan.
We are using this Kickstarter campaign with a goal of $20,000 to fund the first run of BeverageBalls - both production tooling and finished BeverageBalls. As soon as this funding campaign is completed we are ready to "pull the trigger" and make the BeverageBall a reality!
WHAT'S THE PLAN?
1. KickStarter Campaign. (33 days, then go-ahead)
2. Complete the molds and get sample BeverageBalls and internal rings.(2 - 3 weeks after go-ahead)
3. First production BeverageBalls. (3 - 4 weeks after sample acceptance)
4. Rewards distribution. (2 - 3 weeks after receipt of 1st run)
Coincidentally with this, we will be building the website and will be looking for sales distribution opportunities.
WHAT DO WE WANT TO DO?
Matt's invention, the BeverageBall, will be designed, built, and marketed by Agile Systems, Inc., Plano, Texas.
We want to become the supplier of BeverageBalls. We want to supply BeverageBalls to distributors who have licensing rights to use corporate logos, NFL logos, and/or NCAA logos. These distributors will then have the proper logo stamped on the BeverageBalls and will sell them through their established distribution chain.
WHAT ARE WE ASKING YOU TO DO?
We are asking that you not only ride along with us as we build and introduce this fun product into the marketplace, but also help drive the bus. We're not only asking for financial participation (pledge) from you, but we're also asking for your help in spreading the news about the campaign. Successful Kickstarter campaigns all depend on forwarding of campaign information through the contact chains of campaign backers.
Following the successful campaign, we will then ask you to link us up with distribution partners that can help us grow this business most effectively.

Risks and challenges
When bringing any product idea to market, the challenges start with the detailed design and manufacturing. The design has already been completed by a mechanical engineer/designer that has worked with my dad on numerous previous projects. He has generated the necessary manufacturing drawings and has introduced us to a foam manufacturer in China, who can produce the molds and build the initial run of BeverageBalls. We have gotten formal cost estimates for this production activity and detailed timelines from the manufacturer. As with any production estimate, things can happen that could introduce delivery delays. However, the simplicity of the design and the expertise of the manufacturer minimize these concerns. If we should encounter any issue during the execution of the project we will immediately post the issue on the site and will make the necessary adjustments to mitigate the effects.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
