Thanks for checking out our project. As you can surmise from the video, we would like to make a documentary about a Philadelphia accordion hero, Joe Soprani. Joe's career is so remarkable - performing alongside Pavarotti, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Philly Pops, surviving a plane crash during a USO tour to play for the troops, preparing a marching band arrangement for Bon Jovi, and much more.
And at 78, Joe is as energetic and vibrant as ever. As a 27 year old musician, sound engineer, and filmmaker, working with Joe has been most inspiring for me. Coincidentally, the accordion is going through a bit of a renaissance right now, but Joe has been unwavering in his dedication to the instrument, always humble, and never being shown the respect or acclaim he so deserves.
Please do join us in helping to tell the story of a man who has stories in spades - stories that deserve to be heard by an audience wider than myself and Joe's loving wife and family.
Thanks for your time.
Risks and challenges
The challenges that come with completing this project mostly involve organizing the sessions, getting the right musicians in order, and trying to gain access to some of the higher profile people for interview footage.
We will overcome these challenges with tenacity and unfailing commitment to the project. With Joe being 78, we are eager to begin as soon as possible!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
