Heads up, Freeze Force. - So that name is sounding a little better but we're still not quite there yet.
KS EXCLUSIVE BOX DESIGN
Big news today I wanted to share with everyone. Our awesome game artist, Thomas Holt, is going to create a new box art design that will only be available to Kickstarter backers. This is not a stretch goal nor will it cost you anything extra. It's something we are able to offer as a thank you to every backer. This exclusive box design will not be available for purchase after the campaign concludes and we go to production.
Thomas will need some time to prepare the new design and we'll have to review it with our friends at Dragon Army as well. This will likely not be finished until after the campaign ends (12/14). When the design is ready we'll share it with everyone and during the pledge manager stage you'll be able to choose whether or not you want the retail version (currently shown on the KS page) or if you'd like us to send the new limited edition KS exclusive version.
As a reminder, you can adjust your pledge amount and add extra copies of the game for the cost of the game only - no added shipping fees. During the cover art selection process in the pledge manager, you will be able to split your order if you'd like to receive both versions.
For those that do not want additional copies of the full game, but would like to own both boxes for their collection: if you have pledged at a tier where you are receiving a physical copy of the game, simply adjust your pledge and add $5 for each additional box only. This extra box will not come with any components, it's a way for you to own the game along with both box designs.
Some of that might sound confusing. Please leave a comment or drop me a message if there are any questions.
ONE WEEK REMAINING
We're less than a week away from the end of the campaign - Wednesday, Dec 14th at 11:00 PM EST. As of this update, we're nearing the 70% funding mark. Please continue to share the campaign page with friends and/or order additional copies of the game. The finish line is in view, but we need your help to get there!
MEET THE ROBOTS: Scrambles, Ray, & Punk Rockit
Let's continue our series look at how the video game and card game versions of your favorite robots differ. Haven't played the mobile game? Download it now for free.
The video game version of this egg-tastic looking robot drops sticky bombs which temporarily slow your truck down. Our card game edition is also designed to slow your roll by making players discard one of their weaponized ice cream cards from their hands. The good news is that in the boost card deck, you can purchase bigger tires for your ice cream truck that let you avoid Scrambles attack ability.
Like his name suggests, this robot fires a large laser beam ray at your ice cream truck in the video game. They can be quite destructive, so we created the card game version to be just as menacing. If a Ray is on your planet during the robot attack phase, each player will need to temporarily disarm one of the upgrade cards equipped to their truck. Fortunately, players can purchase a Deflector Shield which will prevent all attacks from Ray.
Puck Rockit is rocking both fancy eye makeup and some rocket powered speakers. The video game version packs a powerful punch and losing two Sprinkletonium in the card game can be devastating. There is no upgrade card to help block this punk rocker, so best to make sure players work to take them out quickly.
We've teamed up with 'The Boardgame Group' on Facebook to give away two fun new games: Ice Cool and Chariot Race. To enter, visit this thread on Facebook and comment with your favorite robot from Robots Love Ice Cream. One random winner will be drawn on Dec 12th. You do not need to be a backer of the project on Kickstarter to win. Nice and easy!
