InkCase Plus supports any Android phone operating on Android OS 4.0 and above that has Bluetooth connectivity.
InkCase Plus is based on a modular design concept and can work as a stand alone.
If you wish to use it alongside your phone, a FitCase is required to hold both the InkCase Plus and your phone together.
Currently we have FitCase for Samsung Galaxy S5 and Note 3. We are asking backers to vote and tell us which phone model they wish to have a FitCase design for. We shall produce that FitCase if there are 500 votes. Refer to our Update #3 on how to vote.
There is a micro USB port at the base of the InkCase Plus. You can charge it using the USB-to-micro USB cable provided. You can connect to the USB port of your computer, notebook or a USB charger (not provided).
This is a key feature of E Ink display. Even in the absence of a power source, the image or information on the E Ink display does not disappear; unlike the LCD of a phone which will blank out when the battery is flat.
Color E Ink screen technology is still in research phase. The cost is still high to incorporate it into InkCase Plus. Furthermore, most of the information to be displayed on the InkCase Plus is in black and white like text and messages.
InkCase Plus is designed for the mobile phone. In order to avoid any false triggering or activation, we decided not to incorporate touch on the display. Furthermore, touch function will make the InkCase Plus thicker and will increase its power consumption.
