- Thanks everyone who helped us get to our goal early! And thanks to others who are still jumping on board. Yes, you can continue to contribute and qualify for the limited edition gifts if you pledge before 10pm EDT on March 18.
City Church Eastside has commissioned singer-songwriter Troy Bronsink, in collaboration with other local musicians, to record an indie album of original songs and arrangements. The project will be recorded professionally beginning with live performances the weekend of March 24, followed by studio recording, mixing, and mastering. All the artwork –from concert promotion to CD art and web materials– will be original work of City Church folks as well.
Songs to Pray By will be an album expressing that place where contemplation meets inspiration. For months now a four piece band has preparing for this by tightening the arrangements of the songs that we sing at City Church (as well as a couple newbies). Soon the band will add additional instrumentation and vocalists from City Church and the wider Atlanta artistic community to prepare for a larger sound, akin to that of Band of Horses, Swell Season, and Wilco.
Thanks to the donation of time by so many artists we are able to keep the total project costs down to $10,000. The church is gifting $5,000 of that from their general budget but for this project to happen, we need to raise the additional $5,000 from you through Kickstarter by March 18.
- Stay tuned for other gifts at the $100 level that may include concert posters or photography
