About this project
ALFA: To Vietnam and Back, is a 30-minute documentary about the never-before-seen combat photos of the Navy SEAL platoon and the memories behind them.
In 1968, Navy photography Chip Maury accompanied members of SEAL Team ONE, ALFA platoon to South Vietnam. For the first time in history these photos captured in detail the actions of the highly-trained Naval Special Warfare unit. The majority of these photos have never been seen before by the public nor by the men of ALFA platoon, until now.
I'm taking these photos on a road trip and finally showing them to the men 43 years later! This documentary is about recalling memory and finding out the stories behind the pictures.
My creative team is set and ready to roll! We just need your support for travel and lodging expenses across the U.S.. We are fortunate enough to have alumni access to editing facilities and software to bring it all together in post.
The rewards for your contributions range from free admission to the premiere, DVDs, photos, and producing credits. Another cool thing about this project is that we are also doing a Making of the Documentary and we'll have a blog where we can share photos and videos. So that backers and viewers can track our progress and see where we are at, what we are doing, and how we're doing it.
PLEASE lend me your support to make this documentary! There's real potential for a great film, thank you!!
