My project is called "The Big Paint". It earns this title because the funds raised will be used for exactly this. The production of large and small scale abstract acrylic paintings featuring brilliant colors and polished details. Some pieces will feature minute details, taking hours to soak in. Others will be deliciously simple, emanating raw emotion. All the artwork will be 1/1 with no prints being made. The reason for this is to provide art enthusiasts, specifically younger art supporters the opportunity to own an original piece of artwork. In today's art market original works often have ostentatious costs. These costs completely exclude members of the younger generation from the indescribably remarkable feeling of owning a rare piece of artwork. My goal is to bring the simple pleasure of color to as many people as I possibly can. All the paintings produced from The Big Paint will be sold at reasonable, cost covering prices. To do this I need funds for materials, while I will supply the enthusiasm & creativity to help spread the magic of art.
Below are some examples of previous work which will help provide you a taste of my work and for those of you who choose to fund The Big Paint, what your rewards could look like.
Risks and challenges
Upon successful funding The Big Paint will face several unique obstacles. The technical side of the project has been planned and "beta tested". I have been able to cheaply renovate a garage into a paint proof studio. I have access to the space twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. The only possibly setback in this part of the project is the paint proof setup failing. I am confident this will not occur as the area has already been tested with great success. If a failure did occur, the supplies necessary to fix the issue are already in my possession thus requiring no new funding!
The Big Paint is a one man operation with the exception of a supplier for canvas, paint and brushes. I have two highly reputable sources (both online and brick and mortar) for all the necessary supplies. The supply chain should not be the source of any set backs or issues.
The biggest potential obstacle is the infamous "writer's block". A sudden lack of inspiration could bring The Big Paint to a screeching halt. I have the upmost confidence this will not occur. I have been preparing a massive stockpile of ideas as I traveled for the past year. A collection of colors, textures and combinations stored in the forms of photographs, jotted notes, detailed plans and sketches.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
