Designed for the Modern World
We engineered the Habelis Bomber Jacket to fit your life. We started with the timeless MA1 bomber, the 21st century’s most iconic silhouette and packed it with technology. We fined-tuned its design for months to ensure you get the most versatile and sophisticated jacket you’ve ever owned.
Fully Reversible: 2 Jackets in 1
The bomber is fully reversible. Stealth black on one side, suitable for any occasion. And on the reverse side: high visibility orange with reflective trim to keep you safe on the road day and night.
High Visibility Reflective Trim
The jacket features engineering-grade reflective trim. Embedded in a substrate are millions of catadioptric glass spheres. It's super high-tech stuff. Simply stated, it maximizes low light visibility to an increasingly distracted population of motorists.
The Habelis Scout Vest
We're also excited to introduce the Habelis Scout Vest. It has all the same features as the bomber, plus a stowaway hood to use when sudden weather arrives.
The vest and jacket are lined with 100 GSM primaloft insulation made with 100% recycled plastic bottles. This minimizes weight and bulkiness while maximizing warmth.
What is Tailored-Tech?
The Habelis Bomber Jacket combines the sophistication of a tailored garment with the comfort and functionality you find in a piece of technical outerwear. We came to call this approach to design “Tailored-Tech.”
Magnetic Headphone Patch
Never struggle with tangled earbuds again. Both the Bomber and Vest have a magnetic headphone patch to stow your earbuds when the world needs your attention.
Dark Pocket: Secure Your Data and Personal Information
The Habelis Dark Pocket employs a military-grade fabric that blocks all radio waves. No signals in, no signals out. It protects your cell phone, credit cards and passport from thieves, corporations and snoops of all kinds. We own our personal data and the Habelis Dark Pocket enables you control when and with whom you share them.
Ergonomic Styling: Comfort and Mobility
It would be pointless to engineer a super-dope and uber-functional jacket if it wasn’t also ridiculously comfortable. So we tweeked our prototypes obsessively and integrated ergonomic styling to fit all shapes and sizes.
Ethical Luxury: Eco-friendly, Good for Workers
Here at Habelis, we care about the planet and the people on it, so we designed the Habelis Bomber Jacket to do good by them. The pieces are constructed with eco-friendly materials. They’re made right here in New York City by highly-skilled craftspeople who get paid a fair wage.
Made to Last
A big part of living sustainably is to cut down on consumption. So when it comes to the clothes we buy, garments that last longer are better for the planet. So we built the Habelis Bomber Jacket to last, which keeps it on your back and out of the landfill.
High Quality, Direct to the Customer (That’s you!)
If you were to buy the Habelis Bomber Jacket in a store, it would cost you close to $1000. But we're selling it direct to you. This cuts out the markups, the overseas travel, the advertising campaigns, and a whole lot of the overhead that comes with running a traditional fashion brand.
The Habelis Bomber is made for all genders and available for most shapes and sizes. For $100 more we also offer big and tall sizes (Large-Long, XL-Long, XXL, XXXL)
If you don’t see your size listed below please inquire about additional availability.

Habelis is a Brooklyn-based product design studio started by the two of us: Jacob McCabe and Anthony Clune.
I’m an optimist. My goal as a designer is to make people feel good and think of themselves in a positive way. That has driven me since 2002 when I got my start. I’ve had the privilege to work for Calvin Klein, Comune, and John Varvatos. And most recently served as the Design Director at Banana Republic. I thrive on the business’s fast-paced and competitive nature. I’m a better designer because of it, but I’ve also realized some of that fervor is misplaced. A “just get it done” attitude dominates the industry, just to feed the mass market the quantity it demands.
My hope in starting Habelis is to flip the model on its head. We give projects time to evolve and we put the user at the center of every decision we make. The resulting pieces are of the utmost quality. And we hope when you wear them they will make an optimist of you too.
I have a background in studio art and work in product design, copywriting, and film-direction.

Habelis: What’s in a Name?
Our company’s name is an homage to an ancient human ancestor called “homo habilis.” Translated from latin it means “handy man.” These early humans were the first to make tools: stone spearheads and hand axes to start. We consider them the world’s first product designers and they understood the importance of a well-made object, because their lives depended on it.
The name Habelis reflects our mission to make things right in a world of consumption where they so often are not.

Risks and challenges
We are dialed in and ready for production. We've built multiple prototypes to iron out design issues, we've sourced all materials and established detailed production costs. All we need now is a fat stack so we can press "go" and start making the best jacket you've ever owned.
One potential obstacle would be an outrageously successful campaign. Say for instance we sold 1000 jackets. That's a lot of jackets and we refuse to compromise on quality. Other brands might outsource the production to China, but we will not. So in this scenario, all jackets sold above and beyond 1000 units, may require an additional 15-30 days for delivery.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
