I want to create a film and release it directly at The Pirate Bay. But the film industry says that to finance this I’d basically have to sell my kidney. If you support my project you prove them wrong (and I can keep my kidney… !)
WHO AM I?
I am Hanna Sköld. Three years ago I took a private bankloan to produce my first feature film Nasty Old People. This film was released with a Creative Commons license on the front page on The Pirate Bay and reached 113 countries, downloaded by more than 50,000 people, translated, remixed and screened by people from all around the world. Now it’s time to do it bigger, and with this new project, I want to work with YOU from the beginning! I now invite you to be part of my project - not only economically but also creatively with a story about your own grandmother.
ABOUT THE FILM
A tale about predicting earthquakes and finding sex.
Picture from the film "Granny's Dancing on the Table"
Eini grows up isolated in the deep Swedish forests. When she is 17, she runs away from home and ends up in a strange and crazy society. Her fantasy about her dancing granny helps her to survive, and she uses her gift to predict earthquakes to overcome her obstacles, and to discover sex.
I'm not only creating a film but a whole universe, which includes a game and a granny-invasion. Read more at Granniverse.com
HOW CAN YOU TAKE PART?
1. I need $50,000 to start the shooting this fall! My goal is to release the film at the cinema and for free on the internet, AT THE SAME TIME. This is today almost impossible because of laws and rules and old habits. But it is possible with your support!
2. Tell your own story about YOUR own Granny at www.granniverse.com
3. Spread the word!!
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Every penny (minus the fees for Kickstarter’s involvement) will go directly to the shooting of the FILM. If we exceed the goal, we can also start creating the first episode of the GAME!
MAKE A MOVIE FOR $50,000?
You are absolutely right, this is a very low budget for a feature film. Fortunately, there are also very important investors involved in this film. The $50,000 figure is one part of of a larger total budget, BUT in order to make the film come true, and to convince the distributors and theaters to show the film with a Creative Commons licence, those first $50,000 are very crucial.
WHAT DO YOU GET?
YOU ARE CHANGING FILM DISTRIBUTION HISTORY FOR GOD SAKES!! and on top of that: you will get a direct link to download the film, and a LOT of other things! Your face can appear as a claypuppet in the movie, you can get an original puppet from the shooting of the animations in the film, and there are posters, storyboards, and lots of other things to claim! Check out the perks!
CAN I INCREASE MY PLEDGE ONCE IT'S MADE?
YES! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to our campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Pledge” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive. Or if you are logged in, just click this link.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE MONEY ISN'T RAISED IN TIME?
The laywers of the big distribution giants will open another bottle of champagne, lean back in their leather sofas and laugh towards the puppetry scene that is controlled by them and their friends.
If our goal isn’t met before the deadline, no money changes hands and no movie is made. I want to avoid this scenario at all cost!
WHEN WILL THE FILM BE RELEASED
The shooting is to begin this fall, after successful funding! The animations will be done in Poland at the beginning of next year. The release will be in 2013! Rest assured, all of us involved will make sure YOU, our kickstarter, know when it’s due for release.
WHEN DO I GET THE PERKS?
All incentives will only happen if our goal is met. Immediately after the deadline we will start to ship all physical merch directly to you. You will hear from us!!!
SO WILL IT BE A GOOD MOVIE?
It will be totally awesome!! The script actually already won a prize!! At CANNES film festival! For best script! So I think we have some opps here to create something really great!!!

WHAT IS CREATIVE COMMONS?
FREE!!! Not as in free beer but as in free speech! Creative Commons is an alternative to Copyright which allows me as a director to freely share my work with you, and you to take part in the creation and spread, share, remix, and build upon the work! We will use the attiribution BY-NC SA

I'm collaborataing with Sally Levi in the US, and that's why the bank account says Film Trolley. Sally Levi makes films that wouldn't be made otherwise. She co-founded Film Trolley in Sweden before starting a division in the US.
We are also co-producing with Slotmachine who is the French Co-producer of Melancholia (and in fact all of Lars von Triers films), we work with a polish animation company Se-ma-for (double Oscar winner!!) and the Danish company Astafilm who was co-producer of Simon and the Oaks last year. And of course Helene Granqvist (picture) from Good World, who produced Nasty Old People!
