I want my dream to come true.
The dream of a book.
A book that people have on their shelves or just laying around on a table. A book that I can show to my kids or even grandkids. A book Filled with the images that I have shot over the past fours years, the greatest times of my life so far. In those four years I have been to some amazing places. For each place, each moment, there is a different story that wants to be told.
And this, this is my story.
My diary, 240 pages.
Das Tagebuch eines Narren.
It all started 1st, May 2013 when I boarded the plane to Thailand in order to start my trip around the world. The plan was simple. I had a list of countries that I wanted to visit within one year. This year turned into 17 months and the list of countries grew bigger. Meditating as a buddhist monk in Thailand, looking for waterfalls in the forests of the Fiji islands, cycling through the deserts and mountains of Chile.
Rio de Janeiro
Since social media didn't play an as big of a role as it does now in my life, nearly all of the pictures that were taken during this trip, never made it online. Therefore around 100 pages are completely "fresh".
After coming back I noticed immediately that my infinite journey of seeking new places and beautiful moments had just begun. I simply couldn't stand still for very long. Therefore I continued exploring and roaming. I made a road trip with four friends through Scotland in a grass green hippie bus, explored the old ruins of Burma with my girlfriend, went surfing on the french Atlantic coast. I made little trips whenever I could. All of them have their own chapter in the book.
If you haven't noticed, there is more than just lots of pictures to look at. In addition I wrote my thoughts down. Thoughts that are connected to these special places. Songs that take me back to that moment, that place. And my favorite quotes that somehow changed the way I see the world. For every place, I have a story to tell.
So there's a lot to read, as well! Actually for the text I used on an old typewriter that I got on a flea market a couple of months ago.
There is a chapter for almost every place that I have listed here. And in the meantime when I wasn't on the road, I still tried to capture the divine moments of my daily life in the city I fell in love with, Cologne. Wine, cigarettes, friends, rooftops, sunsets.
If you can't afford the book, which is not a problem, you can still help!
Just spread the word and share this project with your family and friends.
I'm incredibly thankful for every bit of support in order to make this happen.
Risks and challenges
If this project a.k.a. my dream gets realized, the biggest challenge will most likely be the shipping. Of course it is not going to be easy to ship 500 or more books to the right person. But since I am a small, but powerful and determined one-man-army with the support of my closest friends and my beloved family, I feel more than capable of handling this challenge.
The campaign runs until the mid of January. After that I will immediately order the books. It will probably take around two weeks until they get to me. As soon as they are delivered, I will lock myself in my apartment not leaving it until every single order is processed. So that way you can have your book in your hands around the beginning of February.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
