We’ve all lived with and tried to adapt to small or busy kitchens with limited counter space. Imagine your kitchen in the middle of meal preparation, with food ready to prep, kitchen tools, spices, and pot lids covering every inch. Where is that bit of extra space to put the cutting board to slice the veggies or for the bowl to mix the condiments? The LidSitter is here to help organize your kitchen space. LidSitter's unique design allows you to place lids, ladles, spoons, and other kitchen utensils securely on pot rims when not in use and quickly and easily place them back on the pots when the lids are needed.
Home chefs spend an average of 40,000 to 50,000 hours of their life preparing foods and cooking. There are close to 1.5 billion families worldwide with hot pots and lids to coordinate. That’s a lot of lids and pots that people are juggling every day! We’ve estimated that 3 to 6 billion lids could find homes in LidSitters. Join us to make the cooking experience for yourself and loved ones a little easier and more enjoyable.
We sincerely appreciate the many praises from the US as well as from the International community. For INTERNATIONAL BACKERS (Canada, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, ...),
We just worked out logistics to ship Lidsitters to backers in Canada, EU, Australia, Japan and Singapore. AND MANY THANKS for the US Backers for the supports!!!
The LidSitter consists of a stainless steel wire-form and a nylon handle. One end of the wire-form design engages with the pot lid handle while the other snuggly attaches to the cooking pot’s rim. The LidSitter’s unique shape is fabricated from spring-steel that provides a secure attachment combined with flexible mobility. The spring-steel and nylon materials allow heat to dissipate from the device at a much faster rate than other metal surfaces, including the cooking pot and lid, ensuring that the LidSitter can be safely used on a gas stovetop.
- Materials: Nylon Handle and Stainless Steel Body
- Weight: 100g or 0.22 LBs
- Dimensions: 8.5"(Length) x 4.5"(Width) x 5"(Height)
Hold Cook Book,iPad or Tablet on Counter Top . Keep cooking recipes organized and easily accessible by sitting cooking book, iPad or tablet right on the counter top using LidSitter. In addition, have your favorite cooking channel or show on while cooking.
Keep Pot Lids within Reach. For the first time, LidSitter allows lids to sit on the rim of any cooking pot. Once placed on rim, the LidSitter has the ability to slide to the left or right with a small push.
Reduce Back Strain. Reduce unnecessary back strains from over reaching and repetitive twisting and turing to pick up lids. Reaching for lids has never been easier with lid right within arm reach.
Reduce Accidental Burning. Never touch a hot lid or lid handles anymore and keep lids off hot surfaces. LidSitter’s unique handle provides a safe and heat resistant surface safe enough to touch.
No More Dripping Messes. Whether the lid is sitting on the rim, or closed for cooking, the condensation gathered on the lid will drain back into cooking pot, conserving liquids and avoiding drippy messes.
Keep Cooking Lid/Utensils within Reach. LidSitter can accommodate ladles, stirring utensils, and other cooking utensils. Once a lid is attached, a large spoon can slide between the lid and the LidSitter, and a ladle can be placed on the cooking pot's rim for quick access.
Take it Anywhere. When cooking outdoors, never worry about lids on the ground or on dirty surfaces. Keep lids and cooking utensils clean when preparing a camp stew or serving a dish outdoors.
Catering and Pot Luck Friendly. Use the LidSitter during events to free both hands while holding plates and serving spoons. Easily place the lid back on the pot when not in use to keep the heat in.
Fits Majority of Lids. LidSitter's unique design fits majority of all pot lid styles that are available at QVC, Walmart, Target and other popular big box retailers. Whether you have knob or wire-form handles, you can be ensured that the LidSitter will fit snug and secure.
Easy to Wash and Store Away. All materials are dish washer friendly, making cleanup a breeze. The LidSitter can be hung on the wall for easy storage when not in use.

My name is Khanh Bui, and by day I’m an Assay Development Scientist working at a biotech company in the San Francisco Bay Area. In my free time I’m an inventor, creating solutions to everyday problems, and I have several patents pending for my inventions.
I developed the LidSitter in response to a dilemma that my wife and I faced working in a kitchen with limited countertop space. Following a recent back surgery, my wife’s mobility was limited. She wasn’t able to stand for long periods, turn from side to side, or move quickly in the kitchen. Cooking has always been a passion for my wife, even while living with chronic back pain. Because our house has a small kitchen with limited surface space, my wife has struggled to find places to put pot lids and tools while cooking. If she placed items on the stovetop, she risked burning herself when reaching for a lid or utensil. If she put a lid on the limited counter space, she inevitably covered up spices or knives that were then out of sight or steamed by a hot pot lid. If you’ve prepared a meal in a small kitchen, you’re familiar with this scene.
The Creative Process
Knowing my passion for inventive problem solving, my wife asked me to create a device to keep pot lids and ladles in easy reach, ideally on a pot’s rim. As I worked night after night on the design, I lost sleep and began engineering lid holders in my dreams. As it happened, early on an April morning in 2015, the current LidSitter design came to me in a dream that woke me from sleep. I got up at three in the morning, gathered my prototyping tools, and got to work. By morning I had a functional LidSitter!
Developing the LidSitter
Since that morning in April, I’ve invested thousands of dollars to secure IP and the support of an experienced engineer to work out 3D plans. After six months of investing my personal time and finances, we’ve created a solid design that is functional and affordable. I’ve researched the options, and I realize that I’ll have to bring the LidSitter to life on my own. After producing prototype batches, I’m now prepared to ask for your help to bring the LidSitter to market. Your financial support will fund the next stages of product and packaging design, website development, advertising, and securing distribution venues.
The Need for the LidSitter
There are 1.5 billion families worldwide with hot pots and lids to coordinate. That’s a lot of lids and pots that people are juggling every day! We’ve estimated that 3 to 6 billion lids could find homes in LidSitters. Please join me in making this dream a reality and together we can make everyone’s cooking experience a little easier and more enjoyable.
Risks and challenges
We work extremely hard to to get to this point and intend to do everything within our power to deliver our promises to you as seamless as possible. The following are risks and challenges that could happen:
MANUFACTURING: There is a 60 - 90 days lead time before shipment. IF there are any problems with supplies, processes and site, delay may occur. At this point, we are in negotiation with two other Mfg sites that may be able to support us just in case there is anything wrong with the first site.
PRODUCT ADJUSTMENTS: Pre-production batches yielded very high score in the QC performed by Mfg site as well as by our team. Although rare for reliable Mfg companies, there might be scale up issues that potentially could slow production. Sourcing for a second and a third Mfg company for contingencies reasons can alleviate this situation.
FULFILLMENT: We do not foresee any delay in shipping out rewards to backers as promised unless either of the two situations above occur.
