Probably you experienced many games of different genres. I bet hundreds?
Our idea is to unite gamers of various genres in one game.
Wartide worlds is the game for everyone. This is expressed by mixing several genres: RTS, FPS, RPG and a great passion of game developers to create an interesting and exciting free based MMO game. Pass through all historical periods of the time starting with ancient age as a troglodyte and ending with the governors of galaxy by developing various skills with different strategic and tactical approaches
The hero will go through the time.
You will experience the challenges of each time period, from surviving ancient period up until future galaxy. Every time period featured by its setting and technologies.
The eras will include:
- Ancient times - the hunt for mammoths, the taming of wild animals and the war of the tribes;
- Medieval times - chivalry, castles and siege weapons;
- Age of Enlightenment - Napoleonic wars, muskets and beautiful uniforms;
- World War I - rapid mobilisation by rail, quick firing artillery and the first military equipment;
- World War II - massive use of military equipment;
- Modernity - modern technology, implants, drones;
- The age of Galaxy - cyborg, robots, the capture of planets and the clash of galaxies.
There will be no madness in the game, such as “Big Man” with cudgels attacking tanks. Well ... maybe a little bit. During some special events :)
By developing and completing certain quests, players will be able to move from one era to another. You can stay in the era you like the most as much as you want or proceed to the next era with the opportunity to go back again.
Thus, each era provides a unique gaming experience.
The player takes control of the hero and manages the establishment of the settlement.
You have to accomplish the following quests:
- Sustain steady economy;
- Protect and defend your settlement;
- Support your people to make their living comfortable;
- Explore and develop ‘the Knowledge’ and apply this knowing to develop new weapons and gain new skills;
- Train your army to protect your people and conquer the land of your enemies.
The player controls the actions of the character and the units:
- Each unit belongs to a certain class in the meantime the hero can be developed by improving his skills and characteristics as well as ability to change the equipment;
- Particular set of skills can be improved during the game. It is completely up to the player what sets of skills you want to develop.
- Inventory - the range of equipment available for the player varies depending on situation and approach.
Even though all units are exposed to the same levels of skills and abilities no hero is similar is the same. Particularly the player is free to choose how to develop his own hero that allows him to battle efficiently.
Therefore, each hero is unique, having its own techniques, trained in its own special ways and equipped to lead his team into the battle.
The game allows player to switch from one genre to another. Suchwise, by switching from RTS to FPS, player can apply skills and abilities of the hero in a most effective way and not being distracted by the need of giving orders and controlling other units.
Regardless of number of units, player will have a chance to participate in battles involving large armies.
The MMO component offers variety of strategies for players. You can build alliance with other players, distribute responsibilities, from economy development to discovering new technology, from warfare to diplomacy.
By all means, players are free to reward members of their alliance and set repercussions.
The game takes player to the distant future, the era of global war.
As a result of catastrophic events and time anomaly, the hero ends up in the past. From this moment, all you have to do is survive and find your way home. Time anomaly - the “Rift” is the only way to bypass hundreds of years and get to the next era so long as the hero returns to the “present time”.
Finding the “Rift” is not an easy task as well as surviving the world full of danger. In order to achieve this, Player will need to build a settlement, development certain knowledge, train the army, make alliance.
The time will tell whether past conflicts were worth, was your ally trustworthy. At some point, Player may realize that home is not only the time where you came from, but it could be any ear where you belong.
The game is not about reconstruction of the past neither it is hyper-realism. Each era is an abstract of the age, Medieval is a typical feudal Europe with knights, their squads and peasants, WW2 is mainly about the most horrible conflict in the modern history.
We plan to release the game stage by stage.
In the beginning, we release the first two eras, then every six months, new era will be added.
Also, we plan to vary the gameplay with different modes of session character: Deathmatch, the capture and retention of territories, the siege of the castle, etc.
We are the team of game developers.
There are game designers, scriptwriters, 3D animators, etc. among us.
All of us have one common thing - we are video games enthusiasts. Each of us was previously involved in creation of different video games.
Now, we teamed up by the idea of making this ambitious project.
Risks and challenges
Developing such an ambitious project can be extremely channeling yet interesting and exciting. No wonder that we are facing here the most common risks as most game developers do. These are:
Each of the game element, including different landscapes, numbers of armor types and weapons, buildings, flora and fauna requires a lot of time and designer’s effort.
The idea is not just copying same elements, but creating unique ones.
- Certain technical issues;
The project is challenging in terms of technical realization, however, we are confident in our success.
Сombining several game genres can face technical issues, therefore may potentially slow down the process, but in no case it will stop us from game creation
- And some slight changes of features in the game.
Certain features of the game that we are planning currently might be changed, as we move ahead with development, however we will stick to the idea of the game described in the above
It is our concern of not being able to get the remaining budget to proceed with the developing of game. The money raised from Kickstarter will fund only a portion of the game’s development costs. Nevertheless, since we announced the project we managed to attract the initial investments and continue working with potential investors, including your's support, get the game fully funded.
Finally, no project at Kickstarter is free from any risks. Despite the results, we still plan to continue working on this project and find the way to complete the game.
