"The Cupboard Of Fear" by Stewart Bell (Foreword by Robert Waggoner) plus Lucid Dreaming Tools
My plan is to publish a storybook aimed at helping children (and adults!) to overcome their nightmares by teaching them how to lucid dream plus, I also plan to produce some fun tools for helping both kids and adults to learn to lucid dream.
For those who are unfamiliar with the concept, lucid dreaming is the ability to know that you are dreaming while you are actually asleep and dreaming and to use that knowledge to manipulate and control the dream world from within. This, of course, puts you in charge as the creator of the dream world where the possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
It's something I was lucky enough to learn when I was 6 yrs old and the story, of my first ever lucid dream, is the plot in the storybook. Entitled "The Cupboard Of Fear", it tells how a recurring nightmare I had as a child, about a monster living in the cupboard at the bottom of the stairs, prompted my older brother to teach me how to realise when I was dreaming and then how to face up to the monster from within the dream.
It's an ability I've been gifted with ever since and my hope is that the book, along with the handy "how to lucid dream" guide at the back, will help parents teach their own children to take control of their dreams. If your child suffers from nightmares or night terrors you will be well aware of how scary these dreams can seem but this amusing and heartfelt story will show children that these things are just a figment of their imagination.
It will teach them how to become aware while they are dreaming and how to face up to the monsters and bogey men in their nightmares resulting in your child being left with pleasant dreams where they can explore the wonderful world their mind creates for them while they sleep or, create their own adventures if they choose. An added bonus is that as you teach your child you will more than likely also gain this amazing ability for yourself.
The storybook will feature a foreword by acclaimed author and international speaker on lucid dreaming, Robert Waggoner. Robert is also the former president of the International Association for the Study of Dreams so it's a great honour for me to have his involvement in the project.
The rewards include; the storybook (21 x 15cm) with a personal dedication inside; the storybook with your name and town printed under a "Special Thanks To:" credit section at the front and; a deluxe larger version of the storybook (23 x 18cm) with your choice of personal photo included within the actual story (as a picture on the wall).
As well as the storybook I also hope to produce some helpful aids for lucid dreaming. These will be themed around the most effective lucid dream induction exercise which is called a Reality Check. A reality check is an exercise that involves regularly questioning yourself as to whether you're dreaming or not then carrying out a reality test. A common reality test is to push your finger against the palm of your hand.
The idea is that the reality check will become a habit and, because your dreams are often made up of the things that you've been doing the previous day, eventually you will do the reality check when you actually are dreaming and when you do, your finger will go right through your hand and you'll realise that you're dreaming!
There are several different tools, each designed to help remind you to perform your reality check. Stickers, magnets, mugs and vinyl window stickers, all of which, through regular use, will eventually make an appearance in your dreams, prompt a reality check, trigger lucidity and put you in charge of a world without limits!
(There's also a reality check card, the perfect reminder for you to question whether you're dreaming or not...
...everyone who back this project will recieve one of these cards for free).
So, please back my project so we can teach our children, ourselves and the rest of the world this amazing ability. Let's all learn to lucid dream!

Risks and challenges
After the project is funded everything is pretty much ready to go. The storybook was actually completed in 2014 and was issued as an accompaniment to a concept album, released that year, based on my lifelong experiences in lucid dreaming.
The lucid dreaming tools use artwork from the storybook. The templates are all set up, samples have already been ordered to double check artwork compatibility etc., so they too are all ready to go.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
