"Central to 411! Central to 411! 411 respond!"
Stretching her aching muscles as much as her drivers' seat would allow, Lilly Gunn roused herself from her half sleeping state to snatch up the radio's microphone.
"Quit your yammering central! I just got through dealing with another gang of vegan anarchists! Let me close my eyes for five minutes!"
"Cute Gunn, real cute! We have a code 13 on our hands. Judge Coltrane has placed Conway, Green Lea and Altamont Counties on high alert. Unit 371 is already in pursuit of suspects."
"You’re giving bad brad the collar?!"
Her question goes unanswered as the controller, their orders relayed, abruptly cuts the signal with a squelch. Lilly Gunn flips a pair of aviator style sunglasses down over her eyes, takes a short pull to drain the last dregs from a can of energy drink and sets her customized Interdictor's V8 engine aroar.
"Over my dead body!" She states matter of factly as she send the vehicle's tyres squealing down the burning asphalt of the national 66 highway.
HIGHWAY TO HELL is a 2 player competitive card game. Over the course of a game lasting around 30 minutes, you will play a Patroller who will have to complete a patrol through three Sectors, facing all of the dangers and challenges that await you in the game’s post-apocalyptic world.
Pursuits, Shootouts and Enforcement Trials will help to build your reputation to become the most feared Patroller in Distrcit 31!
At the beginning of the game, each player will choose their Patroller. In addition to its rugged good looks, each Patroller has a Special Power that grants them an advantage during certain phases of the game.
Completing a Sector faster, adjusting die results or resolving Trials more easily, are just some of the many Special Powers of the Patrollers.
What would a Patroller be without their trusty vehicle, customized and gleaming? Your Vehicle Card serves as a dashboard and allows you to adjust your Speed as you move through District 31’s various Sectors.
Of course, it is often necessary for a Patroller to customize their vehicle. You can choose from a range of modifications with which to equip your vehicle, from rocket launchers to bullet-proof windows.
The game takes place in turns, during which each Patroller carries out the following 6 Steps:
- Draw a Sector Card.
- Determine your Speed.
- Draw Trial Cards based on your Speed.
- Patrollers alternate the revealing and resolving of their Trial Cards.
- Once a Sector is cleared, Patrollers alternate choosing new Action Cards from the Store.
- Resolve Sector Rewards and Penalties.
During a patrol, it is necessary for a Patroller to make their way through three Sectors, Completing your patrol of each Sector will allow you to restock and earn Pacification Points, but will also take Time.
Depending on the Sectors you are called upon to patrol, you may cross paths with a Freelancer who will accompany you on your patrol, offering their assistance for that Sector or for the duration of your patrol.
In a world on the brink of collapse into total anarchy, a Patroller will commonly encounter various challenges on blistered highways and isolated wastelands of District 31. But as the last representatives of the law and order in this living nightmare, it is your duty to preserve order and uphold justice.
On your patrol you will encounter three types of Trials:
- Pursuits will test your ability to handle your vehicle to the fullest.
- Shootouts will require nerves of steel to dispatch your merciless opponents.
- Enforcements will require all your wits as you carry out challenging investigations.
Each type of Trial is resolved using different dice-based mechanics.
Your Patroller's Special Power, Action Cards and Vehicle Customisations modify your abilities and thus your chances of success.

Risks and challenges
This is the third crowdfunding campaign for our Versus range and we have learned a lot from these previous campaigns.
We also managed 2 campaigns on our Chronicles line (Guardians and Okko).
For this Kickstarter campaign, the core box content is almost finalized, and will be ready to be printed before the end of this campaign - all stretch goals and addons are well advanced.
ZERO RISK DOES NOT EXIST. BUT IT’S STILL A LOT SIMPLER WITH CARDS.
Cards being the main component of this game, this project has a lower level of risk than our previous projects. That being said, apart from making sure that the game is properly prepared, and choosing our partners wisely (printers, logistics, etc.), we could still have issues with heavy meteor impact, zombies invasion and other holy armageddons…. This may cause some delay in the delivery date, but rest assured that if this were to happen, we will keep you informed about the situation.
All pledges can be refunded up to 60 days before departure of the games from the manufacturer location, without question. If the refund is asked more than 15 days after the end of the Kickstarter campaign, penalty fees will be charged.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By pledging on this Kickstarter, you acknowledge that the final appearance, materials and content of the rewards (and the Kickstarter) are subject to change and may differ slightly from what is presented during the Kickstarter campaign.
All costs displayed in $ are based on the exchange rate in effect during the first day of the campaign (1€=$1.16).Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
