Update #1: The Reach Goal (and a present)!
You are all insane! Less than 14 hours and we've surpassed our goal? This is unreal. The out pour of support over the course of the last few, but exciting hours has been an incredible and humbling journey for all of us in the PITCHFORK family - a family that now includes you.
As a result of the success thus far, we have a challenge for the Kickstarter community. We have a reach goal in mind that, if we hit it, we might just be able to make something even more special.
This goal is $10,000.
With money like that, we can hire a professional cinematographer, rent equipment that was past our reach, invest in post production software to bring stellar visual and audio quality to the screen, and so much more.
We couldn't be more pleased with our progress so far and our gratitude extends beyond what we can reciprocate. Let's take this journey together and see how far our reach can climb.
Oh, and since you are all the best, we have a little surprise present for you. There's many more where this came from, so keep your eyes peeled.

In the midst of an unforgiving drought, as well as a withering relationship with his wife, a farmer trudges out into his field of dying corn where he begins to set the stage to replenish his life.
Over the course of the past year, we have been gathering an inventory of necessary gear for creating professional quality productions, humbly beginning with a Canon Rebel camera and a dolly track we built with skateboard wheels and PVC pipe.
Since then, we have learned a great deal and have continued to expand. Our efforts have carried us well, but our equipment is still very modest in contrast to what we could be using to meet our goal of making a movie of the highest quality possible.
Filmmaking is an expensive undertaking, and involves seemingly countless pieces of equipment in order for it to be done the right way. Our continuous effort to reach the ever-important goal we mentioned above will allow us to thoroughly captivate our audiences as they watch "Pitchfork," and instill them with longstanding gratification. We wholeheartedly believe in what we're doing, and we want to be able to give you the quality of entertainment you want, expect, and deserve!
We cannot do this if we do not reach $2,500.
We all reach the best of our respective abilities through the help and support of others. As a partnership of young but determined and energetic filmmakers, we are no different. Some of the equipment we need to acquire includes a crane system, for high-angled shots and gliding, panoramic camera movements, a professional shotgun mic, to upgrade our audio to maximum quality, and a wide-angle lens, for a greatly expanded "field" of view. We would also like to be able to reimburse our actor and actress for their hard work, as well as to give back to the people who have willingly given their time and attention, as well as their property for us to use as filming locations. This is where your hugely appreciated donations will go.
Principal photography is set to begin in early Semptember, just days after the Kickstarter campaign is finished. We will wrap up photography in mid-October. Our goal is to show it to the world during the 2013 Film Festival circuit.
We cannot thank you all enough for your support. Let's make this project happen and be a success together!
