A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
Cue is a pair of truly wireless earbuds with cutting edge technology that delivers amazing sound quality and a superior wireless experience.
In the last 18 months, we worked tirelessly with experts across the field from designers, engineers, and audiologists to develop a high-performance product with the user’s comfort and experience in mind.
The cutting-edge technology of aptX HD and a hybrid driver system provides amazing premium audio quality that is only available from Cue.
The advanced hybrid dynamic driver system with aptX HD technology provides a richer and deeper sound experience. Cue delivers the world’s first true wireless earbuds with a hybrid driver system that is tuned by world’s leading audio engineers and Ph.D. Audiologist.
Cue's hybrid driver system consists of a dynamic driver - similar to the technology in over-ear headphones - as well as a balanced armature- a more precise driver technology used in higher-end earphones.
In general, balanced armature earphones have trouble providing good bass impact whereas dynamic drivers couldn’t match the clarity of the balance armature setup. Together, the two drivers help deliver lots of bass, an accurate and detailed mid-range and crystal clear highs, all without getting in the way of the Artist's vision.
The aptX HD is a hi-res audio that supports audio at 24-bit/48kHz. Compression remains at a ratio of 4:1, with a bitrate of 576 kbps.
You can use the noise canceling feature for your music or calls or just for quiet. Control and filter ambient noise around you and hear the world with crystal clear sound!
Wireless Inductive Charging
Say goodbye to the messy cords! Wireless earbuds are not a truly wireless device without wireless charging.
The Cue Charging Case powers up with Qi inductive charging and can charge your earbuds up to SIX TIMES. Each pair of Earbuds can play up to FOUR HOURS at moderate volume. You can still charge your Cue charging case via a traditional wall outlet through a USB-C connector.
From initial brainstorming, sketching, research, development, and refinement our team has put in thousands of hours collaborating to create the Cue.
Our goal was to create a product that delivers a harmonious balance of performance and lifestyle integration.
After months of research and market evaluation, we realized that the extremely crowded market lacked an offering that delivered great performance on all key functions; audio quality, connectivity, and battery life.
So over the past 2 years, we have been working tirelessly with our heart and soul to make Cue happen. Many times we failed during the discovery process, but it, in the end, this enabled us to develop an amazing product.
Why are we on Kickstarter?
The power of the crowdfunding can change something impossible to possible! We came to crowdfunding not only to launch a new product in the market but also to build a community and cultivate support from backers who believe in the mission of our performance driven product.
This journey is about creating something we believe in. As a community, we take an obligation to be honest not only with our backers but also the audio world. We are motivated and eager to always challenge ourselves to make Cue better. We strive to take Cue to the edge of technology and make them the best possible audio earbuds in the world.
Because aptX-HD is a new cutting edge technology in the market, it will take additional development time to make sure that we get aptX-HD audio quality exactly as we wanted. Rest assure, we have experienced engineers who has worked in this similar technology before. We also have existing relationship from aptX-HD developer that we can rely for their technical support. Our current work on aptX-HD indicate no significant development issues, but some testing and debugging that may require some development time.
Hybrid system - combining dynamic and balance armature into one system is a challenge. This challenge is a positive one because the result of sound quality we get is far greater than the challenge itself. We have an audio engineer who has developed a hearing aid device and an experienced Ph.D. audiologist helping us developing for a superior solution. We are also able to get technical support from audio manufacture who provides our audio parts for audio engineering construction. Our current work on hybrid system indicate no significant technical engineering challenge but some engineering design challenge to deliver best sound quality as much as possible.
