About this project

The Problem

How much money do you spend in a day? In a week? In a month? Sometimes, it doesn’t feel like all that much, but these small things add up. People often spend money on things that they later deem unnecessary or something that they could’ve gone without buying. By the end of it all, we simply just “have no money”. Added onto that, saving is a difficult task while budgeting can be limiting due to the amount of transactions that could take place within a day or a week. So how do we save money? How do we deal with this perceived lack of money that often hinders and make our desires seem so unreachable?

Our Solution

Here’s where Stash comes in. Our team wants to break down the barrier and allow our users to see a way to their desires. Through our app, users have a tangible method to pursue something they want or are able to spend their money without second-guessing their decision. Our app will not only track the way towards saving for a spending goal but it’ll all be done through your own terms.

How it Works

Rather than limiting your spendings each and every month, Stash will guide you towards your goals in small steps. We don’t want to limit your spendings every month and neither do you. Save money while you spend and integrate your lifestyle into your strategy. Put aside and save money your way - you decide where you want it, when you want it.

In Stash, restrictions aren’t placed on your daily spendings. Instead, you can set your own rules and build towards your savings goal. Give in to your guilty pleasures but also save for a bigger goal. Categorize and establish different goals, whether it be short-term or long-term, and start saving under your own criteria.

Decide how you want to allocate money towards specific goals and when to do so. Set up automatic functions for effortless savings or manually add in your own savings - it’s completely up to you! Furthermore, also take the option to set personalized reminders if you need that little extra push to help you save. When your goal has been completed, Stash will let you know - take these small steps and indulge in your desires.

What the Funding will Enable

In order to make our project a reality, we need your help! These funds will help make Stash a reality. We’re a small functional team of designers but we’ll need all the help that we can get. The funding will help us expand our team to include teammates of technical backgrounds who will help us develop our app and grow our business. While majority of funds will help us with the initial application development, the rest of the funds will help us cover our costs as a startup.

Risks and challenges

There are many risks and challenges that come with starting a company with a small team.

One of our biggest concern includes building our user base - the application will truly be spectacular if we're able to reach a large audience. However, that will have to come with time. As a team, we're confident that we'll gain users and we're prepared to take on the responsibilities needed to keep this app running.
