Our store has been in its current location for almost 23 years. When it was time for lease negotiation with our current Landlord, we just couldn't come to terms, and we found ourselves being forced to find a new location for The Daily Grind. After the shock wore off, our friend Molly offered us the opportunity to relocate the Grind into the back side of the Valley Bookseller. We couldn't be more grateful and excited for this opportunity. At this location not only will we have an awesome bookstore connected to us but we will also maintain a beautiful river view. Bonus is a deck to enjoy a cup of coffee on and much better parking for everyone.
Moving The Grind is not an easy thing to do, and the timing is definitely earlier than we had planned. One of the reasons we chose Kickstarter is because we feel like The Grind is part of this community. In a situation like this, we could really use the communities backing to get us where we need to be. The money raised from Kickstarter will help us pay for Met council fees (water, and sewer), plumbing, and electrical costs. I can't tell you enough how much your support means to us!
We made it halfway!! Check out Megan's blooper reel!
Risks and challenges
One of the biggest risks I have ever taken, is buying the Daily Grind when I was 23 years old with absolutely no knowledge on how to run a business. What I realized is that family, friends, and our community will help support you if you have passion for what you do and work hard at it. We were scared before this project started, but all of you have eased our nerves and we know if there is any bumps in the road, we have your support to get us through!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
