About this project
Our passion is to make people feel. It seems like in today's world, so much time is spent just going through the motions, turning off, spinning wheels ... and connecting with others through a maze of wires - phones, computers, fax machines.
We are working to redefine the definition of beauty ... taking music back to the time before electricity, before notation ... way back to the days when we beat on logs in an attempt to speak back to thunder. We are stripping our sound of effects, leaving our souls naked and vulnerable, exposing the raw, organic sounds of wood, skin and strings.
Our goal is to remind people of what music can be, of the joy in staring at a beautiful album cover and getting lost in the mood, allowing the music to wash away the cares of the world, to inspire one to action. Music can be so much more than another download, more than a ringtone, more than background music played while placed on hold, more than a placeholder ... it can be medicine, it can be a confidant, it can be a safety net - and, when many are gathered together at a live performance, all completely present in the moment, it can be communion.
We want to bring back the live aspect of music, to breathe life into the endangered species known as the concert - that sacred place where the performers bare their hearts on stage and the witnesses echo back what they see and hear - and where everyone leaves carrying something of the experience with them. We want to capture that feeling in our recordings, and to use the recordings as a tool to create opportunities for live performances.
For us, music is not a one-way street - it's a conversation, a dance, an intimate exchange. It's a journey that we invite you to take active part in ... the challenges, the triumphs, the pain and the peace. This is the first brick in that road - please join us as we embark on this odyssey. We greatly appreciate your friendship, your support and your energy and thank you for being part of this process!
