Hi I am Hotnectar! First and foremost I would like to thank you for taking the time to take a look my current project!
I am very excited to be working on my vibrant, upbeat debut album. I’m anxiously waiting the moment I introduce it to the world! The first step, however, is to release that single that will have your studio bumping and your body moving. Currently, I have a few songs I am polishing off, and ready to head to the studio for finalization.
A bit about me...
My musical background originates out of a tiny country town in PA, where I was born and raised. On my 5th birthday, my parents blessed me with what may have been the best present a parent could give their child, a keyboard and Disney sheet music. Shortly after, due to my resilient perseverance, I taught myself to play the entire repoirte one handed.
When given the opportunity to play in the elementary school band, I was steadfast in playing the drums. At my parents’ request, I succumbed to the flute, a musical instrument I nonetheless embraced. In high school I was able to play in Canada and, on two occasions, in the Disney World parade. In addition to my music, I spent my time writing poetry, essays and random rants. My mind was difficult to contain, and a musical outlet alone would not suffice.
Following graduation, life and its constant need of monetary sustenance charged me like I imagine it does everyone else. An adrenaline chaser, I decided to join the ARMY police core. I envisioned a life working with a SWAT team, so I enlisted in the reserves. Soon after basic training, the tragic 911 attacks occurred. It wasn't long before I was summoned by letter. I was on my way to Baghdad, my life on hold.
The duration of my stay in Iraq was anything but enjoyable. The motivating, driving force behind this positive soldier was the music I was listing too such as the album, Make Yourself by Incubus, and Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory. Without music, I don’t know what would have kept me the same upbeat, loving person I’ve been to this day.
After being exposed to such life threatening situations, I was disillusioned with a life I once coveted, and found refuge in the sweet confines of Oregon where I planned on snowboarding as much as possible. Mt. Hood was my home for several years. I ended up becoming a snowboarding instructor. This even allowed me to move to different mountains! Life was fun! However, with progression comes injury, and with my two year recovery, I was forced to find a new outlet.
I enrolled in school, once again, only this time I was to study music. I quickly learned music theory, ear training, and formal piano playing was not for me. I still occupied my spare time with writing lyrics.
I was taking private vocal lessons, and purchased a home computerized studio on Ebay. I was ripped off, and never got the software or my money back. Learning a software program got delayed anyways when I was awarded a full scholarship from my work, and got my business degree in marketing and management.
After completing my degree, I left the National Forest, and embarked on a cross country journey to Charleston, SC, in search of warmer climates, and new experiences.
I purchased Reason 6.5, a professional home studio computer software program, accessorizing with a keyboard controller, drum pad, studio speakers, headphones, microphones, and computer upgrades.
I have since been occupying myself by working part time, fully dedicating myself to learning the ins and outs of the program. Reading and doing research, taking notes, and being all about my music, I now enjoy the payoff of hard work.
The last hurdle to clear to get my musical career going is the monetary restraint that afflicts me. It is of utmost importance for me at this juncture to take the music I made to a professional studio where my music can be mixed, mastered and recorded.
My home studio allows me to create the music, but it includes a neighbors incessant dogs barking and an unavoidable ice cream truck that plagues this apartment complex.
My admittance to this highly supportive community is the silver lining I’ve been seeking. It is my aspiration to raise enough money to release a single, my album RAW, along with all that this endeavor entails, with details such as design, press, print, merchandise, distribution, licensing design, and promotion not being spared.
It is true what they say, it takes money to make money. All these things must come together in order to ensure success!
I beseech you to aid me in my journey to realizing my dreams. By strategic planning, and analyzing the competition I am able to bring you something new unlike anything else you have ever heard!
It is my goal to release a single in February, with the album RAW in July.
I have set aside a reserve to help, but I have gone as far as I can on my own, so now I seek the help of community.
Thank you for your support and taking the time to learn about me. I look forward to making this debut, with the supporters of Kickstarter! Feel free to email me with any questions or comments.
Check out my unique gifts and I’ll see you in the club!
