My name is Norrie McCulloch, I'm a Scottish songwriter and I have recorded a bunch of new songs that I hope to share with you soon on an album that will be called ‘Compass’.
With a lot of help from some kind and talented musician friends: Dave McGowan, Marco Rea, Stuart Kidd, Iain Thompson and Shane Connolly I was able to record the songs within one of my favourite spaces which is The Tolbooth in my home town of Stirling.
Now that the recording is done, I’m looking for some help to see the album through to completion and that is where you can help.
I’m hoping to raise enough funds through this Kickstarter campaign to have the songs mixed and mastered, have sleeve artwork designed, to get the album manufactured on vinyl and CD, a digital release put out and give the album a good PR campaign to hopefully get the music to as big an audience as possible.
All funds raised would be used to achieve these aspects of the project and if I should get anything additional over the £2000 I will use it towards advertising and costs for the album launch dates.
Over the last few years I’ve recorded and released 3 albums and 2 EPs and achieved this on a completely self funded DIY basis and now with your help I’m hoping we can make this next album the best and most adventurous yet.
If you are able to help in any way - either by pre ordering the album or going for any of the creative rewards I’m able to offer in exchange for your pledge it would really help towards reaching this goal.
When pledging, please consider that it’s technically only possible to pledge to a project once but you can, however, change your pledge amount and reward selection for as long as a project is live. So if there is anything you'd like or wish to swap about within the pledges I'll do my best to sort it out so please get in touch.
Finally, the way Kickstarter works is that this is an 'All or Nothing' project, so if I don't reach my goal I'll get nothing so backing my project with a pledge no matter how large or small would really help towards getting this album out into the world and I really couldn't thank you enough if we can do this.
Risks and challenges
We have the songs recorded but risks and challenges are now that without enough funds left I won't be able to get them mixed and mastered to a high standard or give the album a full release on various formats or the promotional push needed these days to spread the word.
Being able to solely self finance an album is becoming more difficult so with your help in supporting the project I can make the plans for this record achievable and get it out to the broadest audience possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
