Introducing the project
For those of you who do not know what Lamplight Media is, it is my company devoted to creating Christian Media. We currently publish our novels (Rise of the Magi) through Evergreen Press, however; I started Lamplight Media back in 2006 when I was in the Air Force and first started creating the world of Soterion. At that point I was trying to gain investment for the creation of a video game within the world of Soterion. In the time since 2006 the world has grown and eventually I needed to start writing it all down from fear that I couldnt keep it all straight in my brain. It multiplied from Soterion into a series of Bridge Worlds all linked by a world of tunnels, what Omar would call a dimensional gallaxy. Worlds, dimensions, and planes of existence all linked through one central planet. I began by creating the RPG Book so that we could establish trademark for Soterion but as the world grew into many worlds I have found a need for a different name (Bridge Worlds). By the Dragon Con event I hope to have two novels in the Forgotten Portals series, an RPG Book with top notch art done by professional illustrators all over thge globe, some memorabelia, canvas prints of some of the 90 pieces of art done for the RPG Book, and even a few original one of a kind pieces hand painted/drawn and signed by our artists.
For those of you who do not know what Dragon Con is, Dragon*Con (also Dragon Con or DragonCon) is a North America multigenre convention, founded in 1987, which takes place once each year in Atlanta, Georgia. As of 2012, the convention draws attendance of 52,000, features hundreds of guests, encompasses five hotels in downtown Atlanta near Centennial Olympic Park, and runs thousands of hours of programming for fans of science fiction, fantasy, comic books, and other elements of fan culture.
I was one of thousands who applied for one of the 350 vendor booths at Dragon Con. Believe it or not I was accepted. Currently I will have a case (56) copies of each book and a small amount of art to sell. I would like to have as much product available as possible.
This Kickstarter is to publish to populate my booth with as much product as possible. I am looking to raise at least $5,000. The rewards are going to be awesome, anything from e-books of the RPG Book and expansion packs to one of a kind signed pieces by our artists. I will even have a reward limited to 5 people for a RPG Game of Soterion run by me and George Clark (the other author at Lamplight Media) and 1 limited reward that your character from the RPG Game will be in the 3rd Forgotten Portals novel.
One of the reasons I am starting this Kickstarter is so I have enough product at Dragon Con to up the sales numbers of our novels. We have had help from several Hollywood professionals to write a sp (screenplay) for Rise of the Magi. We plan to pitch the sp to Producers (we already have one who has expressed interest in seeing the sp).
This is part of a long road to creating a video game. Please start considering backing this Kickstarter to get one of the cool rewards.
What do you get?
Good question, just look at all of the rewards on the side bar to the right! Alot of them include electronic copies of the "Bridge Worlds: Soterion" Official Rolplaying Game and other expansion packs to the roleplaying game. The art for the core books is spectacular! These talented Illustrators are from all over the world and have come together to create art for this project because they were able to see first hand the depth and detail that has gone into the creation of Soterion (my fantasy world). Below I have a sample of the cover art and art inside the book:
Also mentioned is Rise of the Magi. Here is a sample of the novel:
And here is the cover art done by Sony Entertainment's Jin Kim:

Risks and challenges
While the creation of Bridge Worlds: Soterion (The Official Roleplaying Game) and all of its expansion books is a major production, we don't anticipate any large barrier to carrying out the project on time. We will be in regular contact with you the backers and we will be putting our all into every phase of this project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
