Our goal for this project is simple - we aim to produce a beautiful, easy to follow, dessert cookbook that will allow you to make delicious traditional Sicilian desserts right in your own kitchen. Our second aim was to make as many of the recipes gluten free - all but one of the 22 recipes in this book have a gluten free option.
THE CREATOR OF THE RECIPES
When Lina moved to the USA (33 years ago) her mission was to recreate all her family recipes using ingredients that could be sourced locally.
Lina owns her own catering business, Sikilia and has been catering for friends, colleagues and local businesses for many years.
ARE THE RECIPES EASY TO FOLLOW
Absolutely - this is one of the ways Jo "a novice baker" has contributed to the book. Jo followed all the recipes and made them gluten free - if Jo can make them so can you.
HOW WILL THE MONEY RAISED BE SPENT
The money will be spent to publish the printed book and all related costs around the production.
Risks and challenges
Producing this cookbook has been our passion for the past year. Perfecting these recipes has been so much fun and we have eaten way too many delicious desserts. We finally have a completed book filled with tried and tested recipes you can recreate in your own kitchen.
