Why and I doing this?
I've been writing songs since I was 16, back when I was still playing on my sisters cheap argos guitar, knowing even fewer chords than I do now.
These days I have a beautiful guitar of my very own, and a bandcamp site full of around 75 songs. But what I really want, is to take that next step, and actually start working towards my dream of being a professional folk musician. And to do that, I need things like professionally recorded music, that I can send out to the industry, and people who might come to see me perform (That might be you? Maybe?)
I decided that the best way to get do that next level, was kickstarter. So I am going to kickstart an album. With your help I am going to procude a set of professionally recorded songs (some new, some remastered favorites from my backlog). It's going to be funny, and sad, and angry, because when I sing, I sing my feelings out.
If you're not sure whether you want to support me, the best thing to do is probably to look at what I've done so far, on reeshadyer.bandcamp.com
Where is your money going?
I've asked for £600 pounds. Approximately £300 of this will go on studio time, £200 on CD production, and up to £100 will be going to the fantastic Orla Brandon who is going to create the art for the album cover.
If I reach my stretch goal of £1100 - I will be looking at having my tracks mastered professionally, which is very exciting.
Adding rewards to Pledges
If you want to add the songbook or poster to a pledge that doesn't have it, please add an additional £10 to your pledge and let me know in the reward survey you will be sent post funding, which one you would like.
Risks and challenges
So, honestly o-clock: I suffer from anxiety and depression. Sometimes this means that deadlines are harder for me to reach, and I get insecure and run away from my problems. But I am so, so serious about this. It is something I have wanted for years and I will battle every demon that shows it's ugly little face to get here. I have a very supportive partner, and access to other support should I need it, and I am confident that it's not going to get in the way of this project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
