The Drawing Studio is a place where the practice of drawing is studied as a natural and connective activity in our lives. There are ways of regaining our childhood absorption in creativity, when we experienced the world as yet-to-be-defined and we participated whole-heartedly. The Drawing Studio is being created to assist people in this effort.
Your contributions will allow us to finish the buildout of the studio, complete the Art Library and buy the supplies we need to open in September. Thank you for supporting us. The Drawing Studio will bring joy and benefit to many people.

Risks and challenges
The risks in beginning the Drawing Studio are clear. What if people don't come?! What if my bookkeeping all goes to hell? My effort in this past year has been to address and get help with areas of inexperience, namely budget projections and bookkeeping. I have two wonderful advisors, one in Brattleboro and one in Boston, helping me create simple systems that I can maintain.
The other ongoing requirement will be healthy enrollment. I have created many points of entry for people interested in art. There is a broad range of classes and workshops for those seeking instruction. We also offer independent drop-in figure drawing sessions for professional artists, teachers and others who want to be in a community yet work independently. The Art Library is an additional way for people to spend time in the school and see what we offer. And of course, good coffee. With windows overlooking the Whetstone Brook, The Drawing Studio may be the most beautiful place in all of Brattleboro to sit and enjoy a cup.
