Independent Game Developers from all over the world want to share their video game creations with you, but with limited budgets and no connections, it's often impossible for them to get the word out.
We're Indies Crash E3, and we're here to change all of that.
What is Indies Crash E3?
Indies Crash E3 is a movement to make the presence of independent game developers a major part of E3, the world’s largest video game expo.
If this Kickstarter is successful, we'll let fans from around the world suggest their favorite indie game developers on our website. Then we'll get 5+ indies (depending on stretch-goals, we'll bring more) into the expo, and arrange interviews for them with tons of gaming journalists.
Have you done this before?
We put on Indies Crash E3 in 2013, and the response was overwhelming. We received almost 1,000,000 page views in 3 and a half weeks, and the campaign was mentioned in Indie Game Magazine, Game Informer Magazine, Joystiq.com, PC Gamer, The Wallstreet Journal, and many other outlets.
On the E3 Expo floor, right next to Nintendo, 10 indie teams suggested by fans engaged in interviews with tons of influential gaming news outlets. Together we changed the landscape of E3, bringing recognition and attention to many deserving games and their developers.
How does this help the indies?
At the expo the indies will get to make major influential connections in the industry, discuss their games with the 45,000 in attendance, and hold interviews we schedule with gaming news outlets.
During the last campaign, we received an outpouring of thanks from the attending teams. For a lot of them this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we were told by many that the exposure made a massive difference.
How are you going to use the funds?
The money raised by this Kickstarter will go primarily towards purchasing passes for the expo. The more we raise, the more teams we can bring, and if we reach $10,000, we can get a booth for the indies, which comes with a lot more passes.
$10,000 - The indies get a booth! Expands the campaign from 5 to 10 total teams, with each team receiving one pass into the Expo.
$20,000 - Purchases a larger booth space at E3 for interviews and meetings; expands the passes received per team from one to two.
$25,000 - Additional funds to put towards contacting gaming journalists, advertising, and making Indies Crash E3 a much bigger and more impactful event.
$30,000 - We'll be able to help the indies produce swag and promotional materials so they can make their presence really stand out!
Risks and challenges
Since this will be our second time running the Indies Crash E3, we’ve already worked out the major obstacles to setting up, running, and managing it. We will work closely with E3 to make efforts even smoother than before.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
