Hello world! We are a small women's clothing line based in Raleigh, NC. With the help of wonderful friends and family we launched the line in Fall of 2013. We have had success selling Ramey Rhodes through trunk shows and several retailers in and around North Carolina, and now we need help getting to the next level. Our Spring line is in development now, and we plan to continue our trunk shows and boutique sales to spread the word and reach new customers. We are also so excited and honored to be taking part in Savannah Fashion Week in May.
Meet our crew! We have had the help and support of so many friends and family, but these are some of the key folks that are helping make Ramey Rhodes happen. Jack of Morton Photography and Debra and Dawn of Glam Lounge have been amazing every step of the way!
Our line is designed in Raleigh, and currently produced in LA. We have also used American sources for fabric and trim for Spring and Fall. Our mission is to not only keep our line made in the USA, but produced as locally as possible. We continue to seek ways to make that happen! The design aesthetic is clean and modern, with an eye for detail and femininity. We have prided ourselves on using beautiful, quality fabrics and trim, with subtle but high-end design details.
We are so happy with the reception so far, and can't wait to share the Spring line. Marketing is so important and we've relied heavily on social media like Facebook and Instagram to try and reach a wider audience, and we have had the great fortune to work with an excellent photographer and beauty team to produce some lovely images. Because we are currently so small we have been able to work closely with our production company to do small batches with quick turnaround. What we need to really help us get to the next level is to be able to finish our Spring development and go directly into Fall '14 development so that we can catch up to the standard industry development calendar, and hopefully attend trade shows such as markets in Atlanta and New York. This will enable us to reach a large number of buyers and grow our business sustainably, and hopefully create more jobs for skilled workers here in the U.S. of A. We need your help to raise the funds to enable us to get our Fall line made.
Your support will go towards things like travel to NYC source new fabric and trim for our Fall collection, which will enable us to move more swiftly and cost effectively, positively impact our margins and use exceptional materials that will make us stand out. It will also go towards our development costs for Fall; things like technical development, pattern making and sample production. These things cost several thousands of dollars, in addition to the cost of fabric and trims. Your help will enable us to create print and digital marketing like lookbooks, videos and mailers to send out to potential buyers, media outlets and customers. It would also cover initial fees for a trip to apparel market, which will allow us to reach a national audience and get our line into stores.
In sum, what your support will fund:
*development costs such as: technical package creation, pattern making, sample cut and sew
*travel for sourcing and trade shows
*fabric and trim
*new digital and print marketing to help spread the word
We spend our funds judiciously and keep our costs as low as possible, while creating a beautiful, quality product.

Risks and challenges
The apparel industry comes with plenty of risks. Even in our short run so far we have experienced a few obstacles; we've learned to think on our feet and work fast and smart. The supply chain is ever-changing: shipping could be delayed, planned fabrics or trims can be unexpectedly out-of-stock, communication errors. We are working with an excellent production facility in LA, and we can rely on them to help us troubleshoot our production and material issues. We have also retained the services of an experienced industry consultant who has, and will help us with sourcing and supply chain. There's also the risk that people will not be receptive to your product, thus far we have had great feedback, and we will continue to listen to our customers and address their needs.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
