Mark Fonseca's first full length album
Hello Friends! Thank you for checking out my Kickstarter page!
I absolutely cannot wait to record my first full length album. Since the release last year of my first (EP) "Into Your Love" I have written a number of songs that I am psyched out of my mind about! These songs represent the journey of life with the focus and theme being to live fully in the present time.
Let me share with you how this album idea came together...
Last May I started writing songs for a new album.
I didn't know what the theme would be, I just wrote lyrics and melodies
as they came to me throughout the year. Before I knew it I had a
grouping of songs that all had this underlying theme of looking back at
how far we've come, looking ahead at our hope filled future, but most
importantly fully living in the present.
In my own life I could see how at times I mentally live in the past. Other times I am only focused on the future. But in order to truly live we sometimes need to either fast forward or reverse(in a sense) to the here and now. The whole idea is to not miss today, but live fully in each moment. I realized one day that many of the songs I wrote during this past year emphasized this.
And so Back to the Present was born.
To be recorded with your help are songs like "Out of time" which is about realizing it is never too late to start living, "The Aviator" a song with a metaphor of the Wright Brothers that encourages never to give up on your dreams no matter how big or small. There are plenty more. Listen to the demos at the bottom of this page.
So why do I need $6,000?
There are many things that go into making an album such as paying for;
A Producer: Oversees and manages the recording of the album.
Studio time: The many hours it takes to record guitars, vocals, piano/keyboards, drums, ect.
Session musicians: As a solo artist I write the music and play most of the instruments, but it always sounds better with some great diverse talent. It always sounds AMAZING! They take the music to a whole nother level!
Mixing & Mastering: Mixing is done during the recording process and after. The mastering is the post production of the music and requires critical listening. After the recording and mixing is complete, the Mastering brings everything together so when you listen to the album it sounds like music to your ears!
The $6,000 I'm asking for will cover all of the above to give me a great start on this dream!
Please take a look at the REWARDS, there are some good ones for you! However, even with all these rewards I could never thank you enough. Without you none of this would be possible.
Please feel free to comment or send me a message!
Once again I can't thank you enough for your help in supporting me and my passion of music and making...

Please listen to sample garageband demos of a few of the songs to be recorded professionally with your help. These are very raw...lol but I want you to get the feel of the album. Much Love!
