We love theatre. The more intimate the better. In 2004 we produced our first show, the Los Angeles Premiere of Keith Bunin's THE CREDEAUX CANVAS, at the Victory Theatre in Burbank. The Los Angeles Times wrote an amazing review. We ran the show for nearly six months to sold out houses. A theatre company was born. Eight years, fourteen plays later, VS. has a home of its own. We're pleased to announce we've taken over the former Black Dahlia Theatre.
Now comes the build-out.
We need lights and sound. We want a classy lobby. A cool sign on the door.
But we need your help.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 in the next month. We're offering awesome rewards. Wristbands, mugs, kickass t-shirts. Your name in lights! That's right, we will name a light in your honor. Or better yet, a seat. Only twenty-eight seats in the house, so this is a very special gift for either yourself or a loved one.
Thank you for all your support over the years. We wouldn't be here without you. We hope you'll be inspired to join us again in our new beginning.
See you at the theatre!
Risks and challenges
Costs to outfit and design a theatre and lobby space can add up very quickly. Labor alone is very expensive. Fortunately, we have wonderful designers who are passionate about VS., and willing to do all the work for free. There will be no labor costs.
We will also be very smart and selective in purchasing equipment. We have many connections to equipment houses in Los Angeles from all our years of producing theatre. We will make sure we get the best deals on everything we buy including looking for donated items.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
