"Can't Give This War Away" will be a book of essays and photographs documenting my three summers of embedded photojournalism in Iraq.
43 backers pledged $4,049 to help bring this project to life.

More books printing...all will be finalized this week.

Hello everyone,

Thanks again for your your patience! The rest of the books will be confirmed for printing this week, with many already underway. They should be shipping to everyone by the end of next week.

Once the physical copies of the book have been shipped, I will be posting a link to download a PDF of the book as well. Info on that will follow, as well as choosing photo prints, for those at that funding level. Many of you already have copies on their way to you, and this PDF version will incorporate small edits I made to that version.

It's all in the stretch run! So thanks again for your support and interest, and everyone should have a copy of the book by the end of the month!

First batch of books is being printed!

Posted by Nathan Webster (Creator)

Hello everyone,

Thanks for your patience! The first batch of books is being printed and should be to me in about a week. From there, I'll send them right out.

These are most of the $75 level books that require mailing; the rest, including those going to people local to me, will follow shortly afterwards, once I look these over and make sure I didn't miss any glaring mistakes.

But, I've edited, checked, proofed, adjusted and hopefully caught most errors. I think it should work out okay!

Thanks again. The next update will confirm I'm happy with this version and that delivery is commencing!

Design is in the final stretch

Posted by Nathan Webster (Creator)

Hello everyone,

Book design is in its final stretch and should be finished by the end of the week.

Going from 120 to 160 pages (the max allowed using the quality of paper) made a huge difference in quality. At 120 pages, I would have needed to make some ruthless cuts, but at 160 I'll be able to fit what I want to, and while I still need to cut, disciplined editing will improve the final product anyway.

As I've said, the quality in the first test print I saw was exceptional, so the final version should have no problems. While it will take me some time to proof the finished rough draft, I've been editing as I go, and it won't take me that long.

My hope and expectation is to have the first round of copies ordered by the end of the month.

I will post the next update once I've proofed the full draft and have an ETA on when finished books will be on their way to everybone.

But, if you have any questions before then, let me know!

Thanks again for everything!

First test copy recieved and it looks great!

Posted by Nathan Webster (Creator)

I've got my first test print of the first 40 pages and it looks really good, better than I hoped. Pictures reproduce very well, and the text is easy to read.

Now that I know I won't have any major issues to fix, I think 30-45 days to completion is about right.

I will email thanks to all of you personally as I get closer to finishing. I'll keep the updates to a minimum until I get close to the end! Thanks again for your interest and participation! Nathan
