I am excited to announce that I plan to record my 3rd full-length record! The cost of the project will allow me to record 10 songs & extra studio time for me to record string arrangements.
My newly released single "More Than Maybe" will be a track on the new record and is an example of the direction I will be taking in the studio. Watch the official video for the song here:
The song was recorded and produced by Trey Roth at Black Cat Studios in Griffin, GA and I'd like to continue working with him to record the other 9 songs.
What the cost includes:
The 12,000 project goal will cover the cost of:
-($10,000) Studio time, studio musicians, pre-production, production, mixing, and mastering for 10 songs (9 left to record). At Black Cat Studios owned by Jason Hoard in Griffin, GA produced by Trey Roth. (http://www.jasonhoard.com/)
-($1,200) Cost to print the first 1,000 copies of the album, including album artwork design
-($800) Kickstarter project fee
I have created a very detailed FAQ section for your convenience. Please feel free to browse through or e-mail me at any time (email@example.com) with any and all questions about the project.
What you get:
Well, of course, a completed full-length Haley Dreis record! :)
Depending on what level you are able to contribute, I've created 5 donor levels for simplicity and convenience. Select your contribution level and follow the step-by-step instructions. You're just a few clicks away from some really cool swag.
Oh yeah, there's only one song I'll be writing. First come, first served - go get 'em.
Thanks to those who supported my last project and to everyone for their continued support and ongoing contributions. Much love,
Assuming all goes to plan - no natural disasters or aliens shooting laser beams at my CD packages - I plan to release the album in September 2012. An official date will be posted after the recording process.
Trey and Jason are music producers located in Griffin, GA. They're both freakishly talented and really great guys all around. Jason owns Black Cat Studios, where we will be recording the album. Trey will be the producer for my record (the guy that helps push the direction of the project & tells the musicians what to do, it's a pretty awesome art form). Jason will be playing the guitars, mandolin, and other instruments. In other words, they will be offering their freakish talents to my songs. Here's the link to the studio:
Trey produced my first single, "More Than Maybe," an example of the direction we'll take with the album:
All drums, bass, and guitar tracks will be provided by some of the top studio musicians in the world who have worked with artists such as Aerosmith, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, etc. As I mentioned in the previous question, Jason Hoard will be one of them.
Haha, I hear ya.
Pre-production is the first part of the recording process where all of the songs go through final tweaking of the structures, tempos, chord choices, lyrics, melodies, etc. before charting for and recording the band. Then acoustic/vocal "guide tracks" are made for the band to follow.
Wikipedia just happens to explain mixing and mastering better than I ever will. So here you go.
Each of the rewards has an estimated delivery time at the bottom. Most of them will be delivered to you in September 2012. I rather over-promise than under-deliver, so I would expect to receive your reward by September 31st, 2012.
Kickstarter is an amazing tool because it gathers all of you to donate to my project, share it, and receive rewards in one hub. It also organizes data for me to keep track of the rewards you get and where to send them.
But unfortunately there is a fee for that. If the project is successfully funded, it's a 5% fee to Kickstarter and an additional 3-5% fee for Amazon for all credit card processing.
