Nekro Update 2014


Happy New Year everyone!

It's been a long time since our last update but for good reason. We've been hard at work on a massive new feature. We were originally planning multiplayer as an add-on patch post launch. However, you have all been so patient with us, we wanted to reward that patience by giving you guys a fully-functional multiplayer experience not only for the game's launch but for Beta! Check out our video update for all the latest info! Actual update starts at 2:00.

 For those that cannot watch the video, here's what's covered:

  • We've changed plans for multiplayer - it will now be included in Beta and is completely working as of right now!
  • Multiplayer is a co-op experience between two people. One person takes on the role of the Nekro, the other takes on the role of a new character The Evil.
  • We introduce new game mechanics and trinkets.
  • We show off new units like the Cluckadoo, Milkaboo, Jacky-O and Zealot.
  • Our public Beta will be available on Steam sometime around April!
  • Nekro will be played live on the Steam Indie Showcase hosted by Greenlit Gaming on January 10th at 10:00 pm eastern time. For more details please visit this link:

      Don't fret over the cranky people. They likely just have their pants in a wad because they are still waiting for the game, but truly rare is the kickstarter that manages to adhere to its timeline, so they should really get over it and focus on looking forward to the awesome and now even more feature rich game that you will be turning over to us in due time.

      @HankHarpoon - How is something that vastly extends the replayability and functionality of a game to its determent?

      Urgh.... Added multiplayer for the vocal minority at the detriment to the game I actually pledged for.... isnt that always the way

      Hmmm.. It can be me just failing, but it seems that i haven't received my rewards :) I'm a 25 dollar plegder

      @TheChosenOne - Mutliplayer is a co-op mode that follows the single player campaign. Nothing at all was sacrificed to create multiplayer and single player is just as robust as it would have been had we not added co-op.

      Shame. Wish the game had more focus on singleplayer as intended instead of a multiplayer thrown in now.

      But yeah just wanted to say the game is looking really good and that co-op play looks fun and gets me wanting to play it

      This is all really good stuff here even down to that intro poking fun. I appreciate the extra effort to listen and make BIG changes to the game based on our feedback.

      I feel like some are wondering about pvp play... it may not be in the cards just because of the way Neckro plays but I am just wondering what the thought process was with going co-op first.

      So public Beta in April, so release May/June?
      So, major changes to the game that affect game play and replayability, and almost a year late?
      Personally, I would have prefered multiplayer come later, so the core game would have been released earlier.

      Don't get me wrong, I'm still looking forward to the game... But the changes and delays have dampened the excitement quite a bit.
