Woohoo! New Nekro Gameplay Video!

An exciting day here at the darkForge HQ! We have moved from pre-alpha into alpha. What does this mean? Well, for starters it means we're getting closer to putting Nekro in your hands! Secondly, it means we made a new gameplay video to show off all the exciting new features of Nekro! Enjoy!

      This game looks really really good for being in Alpha! I can't wait to play it. Are there going to be health bars on minions or is there anyway that we will be able to tell how much health they have left?

      This is probably the most impressive-looking non-2D Kickstarter game I've seen so far! Well, I haven't seen Takedown: Red Sabre in action yet - I still regret not throwing at least a buck over to that campaign so I could get in on updates. But this definitely looks awesome, and you've executed well on all your ideas it seems.

      Glad all the pieces are coming into place and that this should deliver a super fun, super solid experience! After that messy, high profile Broken Age situation, I need to see more success stories regarding Kickstarter games. From developers who are responsible with their time, money and ambition and really nail what they set out to do. I don't want a few bad apples spoiling the bunch. I like seeing stuff like this :) And I can't wait to see more!

      @darkForge: I mean to make the "before mission" models to be high resolution (higher than they are now).

      @Maxim - We're actually not making too much of a memory footprint with the in-game textures, so we leave all the in-game units at 2048. All the units are rendered under a single draw call with a shared shader so we can save massive overhead in that sense. So far, it's running at a solid 60 fps, even on mid-end machines. Of course, we will provide an option to lower the texture resolutions for older systems. :)

      Great video, I suggest making the "before mission"/"pick screen" units/necro models with high resolution but leave the "low res" units "in mission" like it is now. that way it won't consume much resources but make the feeling the models are hi-res.
