FINAL HOURS!!! - Rocket Titanium and Zirconium OVAL Bolt Pen
$40,782
280
Bringing the "Cool Factor" to an old design, the "D" Rocket Bolt Pen is an elegant, sleek and unique design on the Bolt Action Pen.
A well thought out design - a better mouse trap! (Patent Pending)
***New FUND LEVEL - ANODIZED Titanium Pen in Blue and Gold*** Already pledged - either do the math an add to your pledge to get to $125 or move over to the pledge slot I created today for the Anodized pen.

The design was created as a solution to an issue with Bolt Pens. Bolt Pens of the past have a protruding bolt that would get hung-up in/on your pants or shirt, or they would likely snag on something as you pulled it out of your bag.
By making the pen Oval I was able keep the bolt flushed with the body of the pen and only in the extended position would the bolt be slightly higher than the frame of the pen body. This slightly raised position of the bolt would allow easy purchase when retracting the writing point. Sleek and unobtrusive.

Four Piece Titanium Construction
The pen only has four pieces to its construction not counting the ink cartridge and spring. It consists of the pen body, the bolt, the clip and the end screw and that's it. Simple, Solid and Sexy.
Parker Standard Refills
The *D* Rocket Bolt Pen uses Parker Standard Refills. My favorite is made by Ohto. You can see a small sample of the refills available at Cult Pens - Parker Standard G2 Refills.
Five Versions/Models
I will be offering five models or versions in this KickStarter Campaign. A cheaper RAW version as is off the production floor.
The second version will be blasted and tumbled with *NO* "D" Rocket Laser mark with Retro marking along the body of the pen
The third version will be blasted, tumbled and marked with my distinct "D" Rocket Laser mark with Retro marking along the body of the pen
The forth/fifth will be a blackened gloss and flat black Zirconium version with a Titanium clip.

Lesson's Learned
Lesson's learned have been throughly applied to this design and the production process. The design has been throughly vetted through KickStarter veterans such as Mike Bond of Ti2Designs, Knifemakers, Designers and customers that have purchased my custom knives. The design is sound as well as elegant and sexy.
The Production process has also been throughly vetted and the pictures shown on this campaign are Final Production Prototypes.

Risks and challenges
No project comes without it's challenges.
Lesson's Learned has taught me under fire and brimstone the kinds of problems that can arise in production and how to squash them effectively and professionally.
I have completed the final design and worked out the bugs in prototype production with the help of KickStarter veterans like Mike Bond of Ti2Design and many others. Their input and services have driven this product to the pinnacle of design, quality and has lent it the just plain *Cool* factor. This painstaking step will help smooth out the final stages of this process, having a fully vetted design is crucial and we have one that is patent pending because of that initial hard work.
If this project funds and in order to fulfill we will need to:
1. Large Production Run with lower cost -- Manufacture has been tried and tested with a small final prototype production run already completed, inspected and finalized by myself and other designers and makers on KickStarter and the Custom Knife World.
2. Finishing and Laser Marking -- We have set-up services with Ti2Design, Mike Bond, who has laser services, sand-blasting and multiple finishing tumblers that can accommodate the tumbling needs as well as having a solid reputation on KickStater to deliver a high quality product.
3. Fulfillment -- We do our fulfillment in house to offer direct communication with our backers. Our experience on our last projects have helped us develop accurate fulfillment protocol. Depending on quantity we might use the services of Ti2Design
I think honesty and keeping funders in the loop is critical to building a reputation. It is not always a clean and easy process, but the end product will be worth any challenges we face.
The success of this project depends heavily on getting the word out. Every blog or social networking post counts, so please share. Thank you for your support.
