Surveys sent + Update

Hi,

I just sent out surveys to get your address and other information. While the book isn't totally complete, I do need to start gathering addresses now so that when it is done, I can make my order as soon as possible. Also, the t-shirts usually take a bit to get produced, so getting those started now would be great!

I put together most of the fillable form chapter. Unfortunately, there isn't much in the Python world that supports this very well, so I ended up needing to use a hack of sorts. It works, but I would prefer a more elegant method. This chapter is also shorter than the others, so that kind of annoys me, but this topic just isn't well supported in Python.

On the plus side, I decided to go ahead and expand chapter 10 to include ReportLab's support for creating fillable forms. I finally figured that out when I was working on actually filling the forms themselves, so I think that topic should also be covered.

Other than that, I have chapters 17 and 18 to complete. I believe I will have those done by the end of the month, or possibly sometime in the first week of June. Thus, the book should still be released in June, but depending on your location, you may or may not receive the actual paperback in June. I do apologize for that.

The sickness that I developed a couple of weeks ago has continued so that is slowing me down a bit. And I was at PyCon the past few days, so that also slowed me down too. However I did get to meet a few of my backers, so that was exciting.

Thanks so much for your support. I really appreciate it!
Mike
