Jupyter Notebook 101 will teach you all you need to know to create and use Notebooks effectively. You can use Jupyter Notebook to help you learn to code, create presentations, make beautiful documentation and much more!
If you missed the campaign, you can still get the book on Leanpub here: https://leanpub.com/jupyternotebook101
The Jupyter Notebook is also used by the scientific community to demonstrate research in an easy-to-replicate manner.
You will learn the following in Jupyter Notebook 101:
- How to create and edit Notebooks
- How to add styling, images, graphs, etc
- How to configure Notebooks
- How to export your Notebooks to other formats
- Notebook extensions
- Using Notebooks for presentations
- and more!
I am planning to release the book in November, 2018
This book will be written using my original blogging style. What this means is that the chapters will probably be shorter than most programming books (i.e. less than 20 in most cases).
Jupyter Notebook 101 is a little different in that there will be a lot more screenshots than what I normally use as I found that the best way to convey what I was doing in the Notebooks
Who should read this book?
Jupyter Notebook 101 is for anyone who wants to get started using the Jupyter Notebook. You will need to know a little bit of Python since Python is required to install Jupyter. However you don't need to be an expert Python programmer by any means.
What's the money for?
ISBNs cost money, especially if you have multiple formats of the book (paperback, PDF, mobi, etc). The money will also cover the initial print run of the book for the backers. It will also cover copyright registration and the cost of my illustrator. I'm looking forward to working with my backers to make the best book possible!
About the Author
I'm a professional full time Python programmer by day and Python blogger by night. I've been programming almost exclusively in Python for over 12 years. I co-authored Core Python for DZone. I also ran a successful campaign for my other four books:
The finished book will be made available in the following formats:
- paperback (at the appropriate perk level)
The book will be printed on letter sized paper (8.5" x 11") and be 100-200 pages in length.
Risks and challenges
There are always risks associated with writing, but I have been able to self-publish four previous books without help and on-time. I feel like the only challenge would be getting sick for a long period or having an injury.
I can't plan for that beyond just trying to be safe and stay healthy. I will do my best to keep this book on schedule though.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
