This thing started small. Like, really small. I thought to myself one day "hey, what if I used my knowledge of basic trigonometry to render a 3d cube, and just for the hell of it, rendered it in the terminal by printing lines of ASCII characters?" And next thing you know I add rotation in three dimensions, camera movement, gravity and collision, an engine which supports tons of 3D objects, sprites, and levels, and even a friggin awesome story! But as the project advanced, so too did its expenses. I've hired an artist, I plan to hire a level designer, and then the greatest expense of all is sure to be the upload fee for Steam. Help me not pay this stuff out of my wallet, and you might just improve the quality of the finished game. I'll have more money to pay the artist for more sprites, and more motivation to see this thing through (as if I actually need more motivation. I'm gonna do this thing.) Help out a bunch and you might just claim the ultimate reward: access to the 3D ASCII engine, useful for whatsoever you please.
Risks and challenges
This game is being developed by one person. Development may be slow, and in the worst case, could stop completely. That said, despite being my most ambitious project, this project has already surpassed previous ones, and with the engine already built, all that's left is to add some levels and story.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
