Did you fix the hyperspace device?
Greetings Commanders !
All the games, add-ons and stretch goals are now printed, assembled and ready the get on board. Today, we have many good news and some bad news.
Let’s start with the good ones. Here is the unboxing video of the Kickstarter items. As you will see, it is fantastic and we are very happy about the quality, the material and the colors.
Please note that Didier was so excited that he started to de-punch before making the video … of course there is no missing elements on the punchboards.
After the video, we put all the components of one Admiral Pledge inside the box. As you can see, it fits perfectly! (even Forge and Pirates can be stored with ease).
Some of you asked for a picture of the whole set of miniatures (Admiral pledge). Here it is, on a battle zone made with almost all the tiles available in the Admiral pledge. It is huge! We had to tie Didier to his chair to prevent him from rolling the dice and starting a game just like this!
As you may know, we ask the manufacturer to send us one copy of each reference not only to make pictures for you, but also to check the quality before getting the whole production on board. This quality check is very important, and sometime, it is very useful. Do you start to see what we mean?
As everything was ready made, smelling of fresh glue and ink, as 6 tons of Fleet Commander games and expansions were waiting on palettes to travel across the world to you, unfortunately this time, our quality controls shown 2 main issues.
First, 2 bags of miniature bases are missing in the Genesis Box. Second, the carton used for the discs (for the bases) is 0,5 mm too thick, and the discs are not cute to the right size (again, it is a question of less than half a millimeter). 0,5 mm is not that much, but in this case, it avoids a proper use of the disc on the bases. Believe us, you don’t want your game like this.
>> Now, we want to tell you that we are going fast towards solutions <<
For both issues, our responsibility is not called into question. The manufacturer is doing his best to make the correction in shortest time.
Regarding the discs, the manufacturer informed us that he has already started to print the corrected punchboards. We have scheduled a conference call on Monday to check the corrected boards.
Regarding the missing bags of miniatures bases, we are waiting the feedback of the manufacturer to know wherefrom comes the mistake in order to estimate the impact on schedule. Then more than 10.000 boxes will be opened and repackaged.
We are so sorry that this project takes more delays, but we are so happy to have detected these issues on time.
As soon as we have more information about the new schedules, we will keep you informed. Of course we will ask again to control production samples before shipping. This experience demonstrates that it’s not a waste of time.
Fly safe commander, (and check your fleet twice ;) )
