For the last two years Devon DeMayo and Stephen Ptacek have been researching, workshopping and devising a brand new play•with•music about the 1968 Democratic National Convention, the resulting protests, and the city caught in the middle of it all. This process has come to fruition in the form of an 80 minute long promenade piece wherein 13 actors and 2 musicians use text, movement, video and music to tell the story of what it was like to be on the ground in Chicago in August 1968.
On May 12, 2012 Dog & Pony Theatre Company will present the World Premier of THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING at the historic Victory Gardens Biograph Theater. Performances are Wednesday through Saturday from now until June 9th. Tickets are on sale now, and all Wednesday and preview performances are pay what you can.
Your support not only ensures that we can successfully mount this ambitious project, but also helps us pay our talented team of dedicated artists for their hard work. Ticket sales only make a fraction of budget necessary to create new theatre. Every dollar counts. 500 dollars helps us rent lighting equipment. 100 dollars pays for our programs. 50 dollars gives us fresh guitar strings, two pitch pipes and a pair of drum sticks. 10 dollars buys us a box of screws. Even 5 bucks helps us make this play a reality.
We need you now more than ever. By donating to Dog & Pony as we mount this ambitious project, you help us bring a moment of American history to life the best way we know how: by making great art. Let's do it together.
