Come get your fortune told with RhetOracle's 6th full length production featuring 10 new works inspired by imagery from the Tarot.
Come get your fortune told by RhetOracle Dance Company when you see Fortune Telling, RhetOracle's 6th full-length show featuring 10 new works inspired by the imagery and interpretations of the Rider-Waite Tarot.
The show will be structured as a tarot card reading, each dance created around each card's meaning as re-imagined by one of 7 choreographers. Cards that will be examined include The Fool, Death, Judgement, The Hanging Man, and will cover concepts ranging from temptation to discovery to isolation to renewal. The dances Run From Death, which premiered at Jimmie DeFore's 2012 Pulse, The Dancing Man, which premiered at Jamie Nichols' sold out Celebrate Dance 2012, and La Destreza, which premiered at the first annual Los Angeles Dance Festival, will all be featured in this show with 7 other works by Lester Horton Nominee Christopher Liu, Bri Blonigan, Jason Gorman, Jia Huang, Rochelle Mapes, Courtney Ozovek, and Lester Horton Award Winner and artistic director Nate Hodges.
All funds raised will go directly to paying for the theater rental and labour fees for the technical crew, designers, and dancers. The more we can raise, the more we can do and compensate the artists involved! Your contribution will not only help make our vision a reality, but will help bring you the caliber of talent and entertainment you have come to expect from RhetOracle Dance Company!
