It's On A Train! And, Hacked?

Posted by Evertide Games (Creator)

Hey there,

Just a quick note with a couple of bits of info.

Packing Party!

Meanwhile, the assembly and packaging for all of the other rewards (other than the boxed game that is) is ongoing.  Evelopes, and packing tubes oh my!  Up top is a pic of sweet posters 'n' playmats.

Kickstarter Was Hacked Do I Have a Problem?

Some of you may already know that Kickstarter was hacked recently and you may be concerned about the consequences.  I'm not an expert, but what Kickstarter advises is that you change your password just to be safe.

“As a precaution, we strongly recommend that you change the password of your Kickstarter account, and other accounts where you use this password,” CEO Yancey Strickler [of Kickstarter] wrote in a statement.

Knowledge is power.

So Where Are the Games, Now?

We cleared US customs!!!  This is super exciting because it is the last major wild card in the US fulfillment process.  Now the games are on rail, crossing the country enroute to distribution centers.  So, time until domestic shipping begins is officially measured in days (rather than weeks)!  Unless something unexpected happens the next update will be that the games have arrived at the distribution center and should be mailed out imminently.
Delivery in the rest of the world is, of course, a little more complicated.  The International Release Date will be a bit behind the Domestic Release Date.  Many of you probably already knew this, but the logistical realities prevent us from being able to do a simultaneous seamless global release.  A more precise update should be coming up for you soon.
That's it for now,
Meg Petrich, Omicron (Matt), and 5 more people like this update.

Sweet I look forward to playing with the real thing. :)
In other news, I have tied for the second time last play (also with the exact same person).

Y2K level supporter, and MCG playtester here! Last night I visited Graydon and I got my hands on one of the playmats. They are very nice and I think you will all be pleased. Can't wait for the full product. I am anxious to play it again.

Still so very excited for this, so happy you all have come thru all the setbacks and issues and we'll have this soon! Also, I am pretending that you know it's my birthday coming up, and that this is a present :)

Will there be shipping numbers sent out once the games leave the distribution centers?

@Troy - you said it, there are so many little pitfalls and tripwires, that you just don't know exist until you fall in (or blow something up)!

@Sleet - on the upside, your non-stick nature will make playing the game easier :)

@Paul - Thanks! I'm looking forward to that too.

@Omicron - Yep, Canada is easier than most everywhere else. Man, complex global economies are complex.

      @George - and how!

@Dan - thanks, that means a lot. Can't wait to hear what you think of the game!

@Neil - thanks, love the unambiguous praise! ;-)

You guys ran into about every problem you could have, but I think you handled them a lot better than most projects I've been involved in. Congratulations on finally making it to the finish line despite all the obstacles you hit along the way. As a long time player of KoL, I'm eagerly awaiting my copy of Mr. Card Game.

What a learning experience this must be for you!

Well, thankfully I'm in Canada, so all you have to do is USPS box it, and send it up here and Canada Post takes care of the rest.

    12. Paul Ashour on

Hooray! Can't wait to be able to congratulate you on a product well made. Keep up the good work!

Congrats on reaching this point, guys! I can't wait to hold this game in my (sadly not stick-like) hands.

Considering the trouble the company I work for had getting some salt and pepper shakers through customs, I can appreciate how happy you are to get your stuff through customs. :-)
