January has flown by, but I promised you an update, and for most of you it's still January.  Here we go

How Is the Redesign Coming? 

First, let me again say thank you for your patience.  We didn't anticipate having to go through this process during the campaign.  And it has been a long and arduous task to get to where we are.  The good news is that Richard has completed the new framework for GAR.  We are ready to fabricate the game and now is the time for robustly testing this new version. 

Once we have beaten the tires into paste (no mere tire kickin' here) we will send the game on to the advance printer for the high tier advance copies.  At the same time I will be investigating ways to speed up production in order to try and make back some of the time we've lost due to the delays. 

If everything goes to perfectly, folks should start receiving their games in June.  As you can see there are still a few variables in play, but this is our running theory. 

Patience Has Its Rewards

We are going to add Not-Walter to all backer copies of the game as a special thank you for your support and understanding as we work through all these things. 

I'll let you know when the testing is complete, until then, take care.

      Since the rules seem like they're going to be different from what we've seen, can we redesign our individual cards, and how would we go about doing that?

      Thanks for the update and I totally agree with everyone that i'd rather wait for a great game than get a good game rushed. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to add this to my growing collection of board games my partner won't play with me haha.

      EG doesn't ask Sméagol to play test games no more. EG just use Sméagol. They play test games themselves they do. Spit Sméagols out. Sméagols mad! Sméagols kills hobbitses. Yes! Eats em for dinners he does!

      Thanks for the update, Graydon.
      It's great to hear that things are progressing.
      Not happy about the delay but I agree with the others that it's better to have a delay and get a better game than to have a rushed game and have characters no one is going to want or everyone is going to want due to an unbalanced game.
      How goes work on the Shield of Wonder?
      Will that be coming out at the same time i.e. June?

      @Seamus - magic 8-ball says "answer uncertain". We are thinking about this, but we haven't made a decision yet. Thanks for the questions :)

      @Brian - Thanks! We want to deliver the best game we can, and we want to make sure its a game that everyone will be excited about playing. The delays are a drag, but support like yours is exactly what we need to preserver.

      Thanks for the update, I've been wondering how everything was going with this project. If possible, I'd love to hear some anecdotes about what changes have been made.
