The Holy Grail of fitness product design has always been to create the simplest and most portable piece of equipment while providing the highest level of challenge and function.
We've spent over 3 years designing, testing and engineering ABLE for function, durability and aesthetics - and the result is a product that is perfect for home workouts, but also something you'll be proud to pull out of your bag at the gym.
ABLE might be the best chest developer ever created. Why? Because of it's free range of motion. ABLE allows you to work your chest from a variety of angles. Rotating pushups, pushup flies, bodyweight chest flies and single arm reach flies are just a few. Our oversized grip allows you to load your muscles and mimic all the same big compound moves you usually need a room full of free weights to execute.
Early testers wanted to see back and shoulder capability, and we were somewhat surprised to discover both the challenge and real results from single arm shoulder presses from the plank position with ABLE. Shoulders get it on extension, the back lats and delts engage again during retraction. You can support more or less of your own bodyweight to adjust the move difficulty, and mix up the angles to hit stabilizers.
The ability to use ABLE with either the hands or the feet put us in a category all by ourselves for ab & core work.
Sports require a strong core for the effective transfer of power between the upper and lower body. Functional training, where athletes intentionally train in an unstable environment strengthens stabilizers and helps prevent injury. The training applications for ABLE in football, MMA, golf, baseball, swimming and skiing (to name a few) are unlimited.
Durable Fiberglass - Filled ABS construction - ABS is an incredibly durable plastic polymer. ABLE's main body and roller ball cups are all molded from ABS and then sonic welded together into one solid unit.
Rotating Handle Grip - Our handle grip is oversized (1 -1/4" diameter) brushed steel designed to look and feel like a dumbbell in the hand. The grip rotates smoothly during exercise moves.
Direct Response Roller Ball Technology - Our roller ball system is a proprietary design that allows for smooth use on most indoor surfaces. All we can publish is that it's a bearing system with a unique capture ring that doubles as a bumper that absorbs and deflects energy if the units collide during workouts.
Toe Lock Design: We've taken the best design for a multi-directional upper body platform and added the ability to use them on the feet. Standing exercises, face down ab & core work, or use them on your heels for hamstrings and glutes.

Risks and challenges
We've done everything possible to mitigate our risks as we move into the sourcing and manufacturing phases of bringing ABLE to the market.
Through the use of 3D printing, we've created and tested form, fit and function of our final prototypes and are entirely confident with the results. We are at 100% completion on the product's design, which means we'll go straight to cutting molds and manufacturing once we exceed our goal. The entire product requires only 3 vendors - a plastic manufacturer with assembly capability (which are numerous in the US and overseas), a metal supplier and a bearing supplier. The metal and bearings are off the shelf items, with no manufacturing complexity.
We are very much hoping to hit the kind of pre-order volumes that allow us to start manufacturing the product immediately in the US - but with smaller initial runs, economics may simply require that we manufacture in China. We have quotes from vendors and just need final production volumes to make a final selection on the award of the manufacturing contract.
Our website is live with our App workout filter already functioning, so there will be no delay in programming or accessing great workout moves.
Both Derek, our team Industrial Designer, and Luke, our Founder have years of experience in the sourcing, manufacturing and delivery of products from overseas and US suppliers. Our experience will allow us to re-group and set a new plan should something unexpected come up with our manufacturing, sourcing and delivery plans.
