What is a prototype?

A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:

Proof of Concept

Explorations that test ideas and functionality.

Functional Prototype

Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.

Appearance Prototype

Looks like the final product, but is not functional.

Design Prototype

Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.

Production Prototype

Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.

About

Currently I live in Germany and soon my family and I will move back to my country Indonesia. Here in Germany I've been doing research in alternative energy for about ten years now. In hydrogen generation field I have built many different electrolyzers. At this time I cannot finance my research anymore because I have to invest all my money for preparing to move to Indonesia.

Here are some videos of my research in this field: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPp6mROgGKkjH8P6Ssnw6E-o67bFHjk6K

Now I still have a little time to finish my research in hydrogen gas generation to power a car engine. If I can get support from all of you until the 8th of May 2018 I will build a larger hydrogen cell with more gas production and less gas output line restriction.

My current biggest cell has one problem: the output gas line is too small. I'm planning to build another one with more stainless steel plates (total of 322 plates) and more gas output lines. With this new design I'm expecting to power a car engine only with the gas produced by the electrolyzer.

You can find all technical details of this generator on my website here: http://www.m-opensolutions.com/?p=899

As always, I will open source everything on my website and YouTube channel, so that anybody can reproduce this generator and verify this by himself.

Risks and challenges

The risk of this project would be not enough gas being produced to run an engine but I already have some other cells that can be combined with this new cell to fulfill the minimum requirement of the engine.
